PeteF 1,044 Posted February 6, 2013 A Missouri senator is floating a bill that would mandate that children are shown the NRA's Eddie Eagle program. Not so sure that 1st graders are mature enough to understand it. But a child knowing to leave the gun alone and get an adult, is a great improvement over picking it up and doing what he/she sees on TV. Also included is training for teachers on what to do if a shooting occurs. http://www.ksdk.com/...r-first-graders

djg0770 481 Posted February 6, 2013 Kindergarteners are taught songs, only to learn much much later that "Ring around the rosie" was about a terrible disease. None of that prevents them from learning the words or the basic meaning of: STOP DON'T TOUCH LEAVE THE AREA TELL AN ADULT
DSD1026 48 Posted February 6, 2013 i heard something on 101.5 today about some place proposing a bill that would require 1st graders take an NRA "FIRST" gun safety course.. I cant remember where it was, and i doubt HIGHLY it will pass.. but i'd get behind that as well..

dgstinner 11 Posted February 7, 2013 Maybe if Eddie Eagle was as well known as Smokey the Bear, there'd be less anti-gunners in this country. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
hd2000fxdl 422 Posted February 7, 2013 I like it, this nation was founded with guns, time to go back to basics and make them part of the way things are and teaching from a young age will only help that and teach proper care, handling and respect for them. Chvl67 0 Posted February 7, 2013 Too logical. Makes too much sense. It'll never happen. No emotion involved--so by extension, it must be a bad idea.Someone's "feelings" might get hurt, or they'll be "offended". And yet, legislators in the SAME STATE, put forth insanity like this. Are people really this dumb? Don't answer that. http://foxnewsinsider.com/2013/01/25/missouri-state-lawmaker-proposes-law-requiring-parents-to-notify-childs-school-about-their-guns/
