KyleKap19 3 Posted February 9, 2013 Anyone know if Heritage Guild accepts transfers from a GunBroker purchase? Would love to use them as they are so close but not sure Would call them of course but they are checked out and closed on Sunday Gracias
RecessedFilter 222 Posted February 9, 2013 Do you know what they charge? I think it's like 50 bucks + Nics fyi. I'd suggest Walt in Hackettstown, he's the man and not far from you.
Melgamatic 66 Posted February 9, 2013 HG charges one rate for guns they can't get, and a much higher rate for guns they could have gotten for you. I tried to get a custom receiver for a benchrest gun shipped to them, and I think Rahway wanted $100...
alec.mc 180 Posted February 9, 2013 I dont know what that one charges, but the one is rahway is $100+ ...basically, they don't want to do transfers, so they charge a crazy amount. find a company that WANTS to help with your transfer.
SJG 253 Posted February 9, 2013 Don't deal with them as a transfer agent unless you are a regular, have purchased from them before, and the weapon you purchased is not one they have in stock. They don't really want to act as a transfer agent, and will only do so if you fit in the above criteria. Look at the gunbroker site and you will see FFL in NJ who have registered with GB and welcome the business
KyleKap19 3 Posted February 9, 2013 Yea hear that ... atlantic tac is listed on gunbroker .... heard good stuff about them from my friend whos a cop. Sucks knowing im doing all this for a rifle thats way over priced. Crazy times call for crazy measures from otherwise not so crazy people. Thanks guys
z2886 0 Posted February 10, 2013 I know i got quoted $100 for a transfer from the one in Branchburg a year ago. I thought my hearing went. I just stood there and looked at him like "are you serious" and he didnt even bat an eyelash.
Damjan 73 Posted February 10, 2013 Heritage for a transfer ????? Obviously its your local shop as you have mentioned in your earlyer posts but i would never dream about doing anything like that with them..... Go see Seth at D&S. for transfers in Bernardsville http://www.njffl.com/ I wouldnt do anything with Atlantic as they gave a member here the runaround last month and lied to him in his face. 1125 0 Posted February 10, 2013 Try Jim Flynn's Truck Repair in Glen Gardner. He is close to you and very reasonable.
Hooligan 0 Posted February 10, 2013 Hackettstown Guns & Ammo has done a couple transfers for me. They have some funny hours sometimes but are very reasonable. Jim Flynn's prices are excellent, but he is always swamped.

They don't really want to act as a transfer agent, and will only do so if you fit in the above criteria. After spending close to $20K there, and trying to buy a custom action from a custom boutique gunsmith, they still didn't want my business. I think Joe the owner quoted me $125 for that transfer.... S&W39 31 Posted February 13, 2013 I've gotten sour in recent months with NJFG. Before the the recent gun buying frenzy, Joe was very difficult to deal with on some used guns I was interested in. He must be even more difficult to deal with since recent events. I've given them plenty of business the last 8 years, but there unwillingness to negotiate has made me pursue other establishments. KyleKap19 3 Posted February 13, 2013 So far D&S is great -- $40 for transfer and two rifles with one NICS check.

UAT 3 Posted March 2, 2013 I'm a fan of Millstone sports shop in Hillsborough. Ralph is a real cool guy and his transfer fee is cheap.(not sure if I am allowed to post his trsf fee or not) Nics of course is the standard 16.05. He takes CC with a 3% increase in the pricing. Iggyort 44 Posted December 1, 2013 They charge $100 for new and $75 for a used gun. In addtion, you must go to them in person to fill out paperwork before they send their FFL to your seller. My experience in Branchburg. They are currently doing a C&R tranfer for me.
