Agent_Smith 1 Posted February 11, 2013 I applied for a replacement FID (change of address) and two purchase permits in early October. Called the PD recently to check in. The detective was quite nice, but he said there was a problem with the mental-health database (not sure at what level, county or state or whatnot), and this was holding up processing. Has anyone else been given a similar response recently? I wish I had asked more questions, but I got flustered. Thanks AS

Cold Steel 0 Posted February 11, 2013 Usually get P2P in about 2 - 3 weeks. Recently took 6 weeks. They said the State was backed up with background checks.
MadeInAmerica 2 Posted February 11, 2013 Tell NJ2AS, they have the Operation Compliance that seems to be working out well. Many Municipalities are getting their acts together due to NJ2AS pressure.

wooly bugger 1 Posted February 11, 2013 These days will seem like paradise if the 5 year renewal bill is passed. Imagine if, in addition to initial applications, police departments have to process the constant stream of renewals as well. The bill specifies that the renewals have to go through the exact same process as an initial application, so not like going to the DMV and paying your fee and walking out with a renewed license. Agent_Smith 1 Posted February 12, 2013 Matty, I'll look for that thread. I think that's the case. I think the detective did say the mental-health records were messed up during Sandy.

ifjpm 0 Posted May 3, 2013 There is no accountability when it comes to firearms permits or law. No one seems to care in this state. Not a priority.
