I would highly highly recommend seriously considering getting a real stock of some sort, be it a pistol-grip-stock or a conventional shoulder stock.

 

 

*much more effective, useful, comfortable, and practical* with an actual stock rather than a pistol grip only stock.

 

Highly highly recommended . You do not need to spend a lot on one either.

Get the speedfeed birds head grip, you'll thank me later. All other pistol grips are painful after 5 rounds.

There are a ton of different HD loads for shotgun, you'll hear many opinions on this matter,.

Most people are very satisfied with 00 buckshot for HD, you'll also read that #1 buckshot is the best load, and birdshot..

And slugs and..........

Federal makes a line of buckshot using a "flite control wad" which gets TONS of favorable reviews for very tight pattern and ballistics.

Bottom line is test your HD ammo and learn how it patterns, get a feel for how your shotgun handles, etc

As far as range ammo for a shotgun like this, I guess you could pickup a bunch of target loads just to blast em off?

The federal with flight control is our duty buckshot ammo. Great buckshot
