What crazy prices have you seen. Today at the Jackson show a guy had American eagle 500 round brick for $40.Told him no thank you.

That guy was being fair. I saw Federal 525 bulk pack for $80 at a show. Also same prices on gunbroker.com

Yea $40 is about what it has been selling for online after shipping at most retailers, gunbroker is significantly more.

 

Where is there a gun show in Jackson? Is it a regular thing?

Also the craziest I have seen personally is $1/rd for 556. Thank god I do not need to buy anymore of that caliber for a while.

tips is selling 44 mag for 40 dollars a box, when aim was selling it for 25.

 

Personally i haven't bought any ammo but im about to start buying my yearly allotment from the cmp before that too goes out.

Tips has always been more expensive than the average place. I have boxes of ammo i bought from them 3 yrs ago before i knew better. Their 09'-10' prices - $29/brick .22. $54/100 white box .45, $17/box rem umc 9mm.

 

Internet prices were all about half that at the same point in time. I also made an impulse buy from them in 09' (when I bought the ammo) for a gsg .22 rifle that I paid $599 for, only to go home and see they were selling for $349 all day long.

 

Im all for supporting small businesses, hell my family is entirely dependent on our small businesses, but we dont charge double or more than our competitors.

Proposed additional federal taxes on ammo to "fight crime" will only drive prices higher. How about stimulus money to build new ammo factories?, to create jobs, of course.
