daveleo911 0 Posted March 13, 2013 Hey all, UPDATE: I successfully won an auction for a brand new SA 1911 Loaded (PI9132LP). Can't wait for it to get here! I'm just getting into shooting (yes noob). I already have a Springfield XDm 9mm (bitone), and love it. With my 2 new permits I wanted to add some diversity and am thinking about grabbing a .45 and .22! I really want a 1911, and have become partial to the Springfield 1911 "loaded" .45 stainless. I'm having a somewhat difficult time locating one in stock (any help/ sites appreciated). Any suggestions (.22, 9mm, .45) to fill my second permit are also appreciated.

daveleo911 0 Posted March 13, 2013 sp101 22lr revolver what length slide are you looking at for springfield? 5" preferably I like the brushed silver/chrome finish (or whatever it is, Not black) with the dark wood grip
Col. Mortimer 11 Posted March 13, 2013 I have a Ruger Mk II, a Buckmark Contour and a Bersa Thunder. All are fun to shoot but the Buckmark shoots all ammo with very few problems. The only downside is it is harder to take apart than the other two. Don't listen to anyone that says the Ruger is hard to put back together. It is hard if you do no have and follow the proper instructions. Good instructions and videos are all over the web.

jamesbod 0 Posted March 14, 2013 so so so many 1911s to choose from. choose wisely. there are many 5" than the other shorter barrels. Springfield gives a lot for your $$$. Nice sights, bull barrels on some... check the full rail out Springfield Armory 1911-A1 TRP Operator 5" 45 ACP http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=331879447
daveleo911 0 Posted March 14, 2013 Definitely looking to stay at or around $1000. I really like the Kimber Custom II, but from what research I've done, I feel like the SA is the better choice.
daveleo911 0 Posted March 14, 2013 Also do any reputable sites have the SA 1911 loaded in stock? Other than a bidding site? PSA had the exact one I wanted but since my permits took 3 months, they sold out

jamesbod 0 Posted March 14, 2013 check out gunbroker and gunsamerica you don't really have to bid. if there's no offers, just call the phone number up & offer them their minimal bid stated. try not to nickel and dime them on a few bucks, then they'll get mad or something. usually there's no return use your credit card to protect yourself. credit card orders ship fast...usually give them your FFL to receive delivery. ask for a tracking delivery number. buy from a FFL. you can also confirm they are a FFL on gunbroker. good luck

press-1-for-english 0 Posted March 16, 2013 just my two cents-I was in my not so local gunshop the other day and spotted a nicely used but not abused colt frontier scout,.22lr,SA revolver in the showcase. It has the 4.75(?) inch barrel. My point is that there are a lot of nice used guns out there waiting to be found. It was only $275-for a Colt ! It will shoot any .22 you care to put in it.
