Maryland lawmakers rolling back "assault" weapons ban due to veterans

I wonder how well this would work in NJ? If enough veterans/active-duty military members (especially veterans of OEF/OIF) voice opposition to NJ's ridiculous laws, the anti-2A politicians might back down a bit. After all, they probably don't want to be seen as being against our troops.

Lautenberg is probably the only WWII that I would ever want to punch in the face and then spit on.

I didn't realize he was a vet.

I wonder on whose side he fought?

Nope, won't do a thing. Our elected officials don't give a f*ck about us and what we think.

If all us vets get together it will save them the trouble of tracking us down to ban our rights due to "PTSD".... those records are supposed to be sealed.... what a great idea, target potential PTSD patients.... Its not like they don't have enough reasons within their unit to not go get help....

Sadly NJ has some of the saddest Veterans ever (at least the few good ones are great). Lautenberg is probably the only WWII that I would ever want to punch in the face and then spit on.

I didn't know Lautenberg was a WW2 vet. Very informative. I learned something and then laughed like an idiot at your last line.

To be frank, the current political environment is enough to get 18 year olds to think twice about volunteering for the military. That is really a dangerous turn of events for our country.

Or become first responders or even armed LEOs...

With the brainwashing going on in our schools that the mere the shape of a gun in a pastry is enough to cause a lockdown, embarrassment for the family and Zero tolerance discipline measures. They don't need to pass laws to disarm us. They just need to wait a generation.

Hitler used the youth. These socialists will as well.

Maybe just like DYFS, they'll have teachers reporting any mention of guns at home to a department of gun enforcement. It will be their duty.

Oh wait... That already happens.

Throw in a bounty and away we go.

I didn't know that either, I always thought her was a WW1 vet.

The feds have veterans in their sights- to disarm them. The head of homeland security has even singled them out as a threat. With electronic medical records all they have to get is a veteran talking about nightmares and he can kiss his gun buying "rights" away in the future.

First step of de-fanging society is to go after those with the most know-how around using those fangs.

NJ is loaded with Vets, many unfortunately in VA hospitals and in the NJ Vet's memorial home, not to mention the fortunately healthy ones. Your ideas could be a key to defeating many of the pending bills. A second amendment motorcycle rally with lots of vets, that passes through Trenton, with lots of press coverage might also do the trick. I wonder how many of the the forum members also ride?

443,000 Veterans here in NJ. 964,000 in PA. Reaching out is a great idea! There are many on Active Duty that keep away from anything too political because of managements opinions. Many disgruntled faces walk those halls of VA clinics. I deal with the newer generation and reaching out to them is difficult at best. The whole YOLO thing is very deep in the 18-25 y/o and getting them to care about things aside from new cars, hot chicks and boom boxes takes time and effort. Many just prefer to let them "grow up" after an ART 15 or a few LORs. It hurts my brain to type this but if MTV had a show on that promoted 2A agendas it could reach far and wide. Then again these kids still need to learn how to wear pants correctly.
