Good "local" source of ammo, guns

Recommended Posts

I was in East Stroudsburg tonight. I've always wanted to visit Dunkelbergers (http://bit.ly/10iYH2F), and I finally got the opportunity.

They have more ammo than Cabela's, and just about anyone online. Picked up two 525-round bricks of .Federal "champion" 22lr for $39.99 each, and 2 boxes of .38 sp for $24.99 each.

I know these prices are way higher than 2 years ago, but they're much, much lower than you'll find anywhere online. Especially the .22s. I almost paid $240 the other day, plus shipping, to have some schlemiel send me 2,000 rounds of .22s from Wisconsin. Glad I waited. Saved $20/brick plus shipping.

There's a 2-box limit for each caliber. Bring a friend, buy him a beer and a burger at one of the local establishments. 6% sales tax.

They also have a very fine selection of used and new long guns of just about any caliber, and a ton of handguns.

Was there on Monday and picked up two of the 525 bricks of Federal .22. They also had American Eagle and Remington 22s in stock at that time. Didn't check other calibers as I reload everything except .22.

No primers and no powder and no bullets for reloading.

Suggest calling before taking the ride out. Their number is 570 421-7950.

Good luck.

I actually went up there 2 weeks ago for the first time also. I Waa able to get Varget which I can't find anywhere else. They had a huge amount of powder. Lots of components, lots of reloading equipment, guns, safes, and holsters/accessories. They get an A+ in my book.

Thanks for the info. It's 1 hour away from me but I need some .22 LR rounds really ASAP before Saturday. Did they have a lot of .22 in stock?

They had a ton of .22lr 10 minutes before closing last night. If you get there as they open you'll be able to get 1100 rounds.

Picked up 2x 525 bricks of 22LR Federal and 100 rounds of AE .223. Not the best price but the had a lot of everything and it was nice being able to choose from different brands and loads. Their gun racks looked pretty full. Felt like I was going to a gun shop before the panic started. Couldn't stay long cause I was there during my lunch time but I'm definitely planning on going back to look around some more.

you guys do know that they provide Bloomberg with the names of every person who buys stuff there right?

buy a rifle..on the list....

Settlement in 2006 was for three years of monitoring. That ended in 2009.

you guys do know that they provide Bloomberg with the names of every person who buys stuff there right?

buy a rifle..on the list....

that stems from this:

http://www.poconorecord.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20060923/NEWS/609230340

in short, emperor doucheburg sent undercover agents to several gun stores to commit straw purchases. he then filed suit against them, causing many smaller shops to go out of business due to legal fees. that was his plan all along. dunkelburgers settled on giving info to doucheburg for several years, allowing him to stay in business. that included video tapes, and info on what was sold to who. the consensus is the timeframe for the settlement has expired several years ago. is there STILL info being passed to doucheburg? no one knows for sure.

as retaliation, the state of virginia passed a law stating anyone who sent undercover agents with the intent of committing straw purchases would be held responsible and be charged with a felony. basically saying 'fyck you mikey, try this again and will will arrest you.'

reading on the pa gun forum, opinions of dunkelbergers are the same as the shythole here: people either love the place or hate it, and would never shop there regardless of his settlement.

Took a drive out there with my son. We bought 2 boxes of the Federal 22lr. Made sure to get that the moment we got into the store. There were 8 boxes. We took 2 and after being in the store another 5 minutes the other boxes were gone. They had Remington 22s on the shelf. Some guy bought some 7.62. They had 223 in bags of 50 for $39.99, went down to $37.99 if you bought a few bags. The limit was 3 bags I think. Pretty good selection of other ammo. The shelves were not empty. Pretty good selection on guns. Many AR types. Some AK types. Quite a few Bushmasters, some SW and a Sig. Seems like nice place. Was sold the ammo by a pretty young lady that smiled when she took my money. Quite a difference from the grumpy old men we have behind the counters in NJ. My son says that the guys in NJ are paid by the government to make your shopping experience a pain in the ass so you will not want to purchase any guns or ammo. Took the ammo to some NY property that I have and shot off 525 rounds. So all in all it was a good day.
