Gunfire and explosions at MIT

Recommended Posts

Police have two suspects in custody.

One police officer died as a result of multiple gunshot wounds.

I heard reports the suspects were of middle eastern decent. It's only 2 miles from the Boston bombing site. Reported explosives and grenades on scene where the officer was shot.

Possibly the suspects in the bombing?

EDIT: one suspect in custody, one at large. Two pipe bombs possibly in middle of an intersection.

US Army is on scene establishing a perimeter around detonated explosive device:

You can see the scorch marks on the asphalt in the above picture from the said detonated device.

It's reported that the suspects are using flares to disrupt the search by the helicopters with their thermal imaging cameras.

These aren't just some run of the mill guys causing some trouble. This took lots of planning and training.

Ok Update...one suspect was in custody, but died.

One suspect is still at large. Police identified the at large suspect as the male wearing the white hat in the FBI photos in relation to the Boston bombing.

Don't you worry about violations. America has been deemed a battlefield

And at this point, I'm fine with that- so long as I can go into "battle" ARMED, like my enemies are.

Huh? The US Army? Isn't that in violation of the Posse Comitatus Act ?

There is a difference between using the Army for bomb disposal and using them as law enforcement. Still, a more likely scenario is that the news had their organization wrong.

My Facebook has officially lit up blaming 46 senators for these killers having the ability to acquire weapons.

Get ready for the blame game.

Exactly......I can't wait to hear the spin.

People like this give young 20 year olds like myself an awful name. I don't even want to tell anyone I own guns and enjoy shooting them almost more then anything

Something going down live now. They believe they have someone cornered in a house by Willow... Surrounded and choppers on sight.

PS: They lived in Turkey, but are Chechnyans...

They are saying they most likely didn't think they'd get caught so fast and didn't plan a fast enough escape.

Am I the only one who thinks its odd they stayed around the same area and didnt try to flee out of state after the bombing

    • In 50 years of living in NJ I've never experienced any attempt to inspect the interior of the home, and only one definite inspection of the exterior for an announced reassessment of all properties and that was a drive by. About 9 years of that was living in an apartment, but still, uncommon. Every place I lived had either a finished attic, basement, or both. But they were also included in the habitable square footage on the taxes when we got there.
    • 27.00 and change in tolls to drive down the shore from Rutherford,  47.00 in tolls to go out to Long island to visit dying relatives. Now I read they are going to raise the fees in the DMV. Murphy lied just to get elected when he said that seniors will get a significant tax break with his StayNJ" program to stop us from leaving.   Keep voting for democrats...this is what you get.  Tax and spend is all they know.  Never cut anything.  This state sucks.
