I do I do! I own three of them, but for the purposes of a defensive cartridge the .308 and .30-06, ammo can be more readily available and purchased in bulk. (as in surplus)

 

As far as surplus ammo you are correct, obviously. But back around January-February, when the ammo shelves were bare at Cabelas, guess what caliber was plentiful, yep .270

I save all my brass and now have a couple hundred .270s to reload. Now I have to wait until powder, primers and bullets are available! I, like Jack O'conner, believe that the .270 is one of the finest hunting cartridges ever made!
