Just back from KwaZulu Natal...

Holy crap. That's epic.

Have you taken it apart yet? Where did the bullet go and what did it do?

Also, how do you get that animal positioned for the photo and how do you get it back? Do you butcher it on the spot? Hang and drain it? How much manpower and/or equipment is involved?

Thanks.  The bullet went in the shoulder at 230 yards - right on target and the the pic below shows the wound channel.  (Damn!  Barnes are awesome!)  There were 4 trackers helping with positioning the Bull for the picture and then it was prepped for removal from the ravine. It was taken out on horse back except for the head, horns and cape... that was kindly carried out by both myself and PH sharing the duty.  He's currently residing in Newcastle SA at my chosen Taxidermist.  There is a spot on the wall waiting.

Hope everyone is cool with the graphic hunting photos... if not,  DON'T scroll down.

They chopped it in half?

Typically with an animal that big you would quarter it in the field and pack it out. With the horses though, it looks like it was easier to 'halve' it instead. Makes sense to me.
