NJ bars ripping off drinkers?

Recommended Posts

I don't drink much, but I go to the occasional bar now and again to socialize with friends. But I hardly drink hard liquor, mostly beer and wine. When I drink hard liquor it's from my own liquor cabinet. Yes, I'm very picky.

And apparently for good reason!

Turns out NJ bars have been serving all sorts of interesting "substitutes" for liquor in an effort to cheat customers. I am not very surprised that they did... and I was expecting that maybe they were pouring cheap booze in a top shelf bottle and selling it as top shelf liquor.

But rubbing alcohol? My God, I knew the Sopranos was fiction, but life is clearly imitating art here.

Yes, you heard me right. They mixed rubbing alcohol with food coloring and sold it as top shelf liquor.

I hope no one went blind from the stuff.

But it gets better... TGI Friday's?  Are you kidding me? The first time I went to a TGI Fridays I got sick for a few days. I guess there's a good reason. Yuck. I don't go there anymore.
