jermz1987 243 Posted August 1, 2013 Hey guys. I purchased a ban compliant Bushmaster XM15 E2S a few months back. It came from the factory with the fixed collapsible stock. I wanted to change the stock so I purchased this kit. http://dsgarms.com/ProductInfo/MGMOESTOCKKITBLK.aspx So When I got it, I installed it on my lower. It went on without any issues. Now I am getting ready to pin the stock, But while I was reading online I found out that the XM15-E2s apperently uses a commercial buffer tube, spring and stock. My question is this. Can I keep the kit I bought on it? Or do I have to remove it and buy the commercial kit? Are there any issues with keeping the mil spec kit on it? Thanks for your help guys. cliffwang 0 Posted August 1, 2013 No problems with the mil spec kit you have.
High Exposure 5,662 Posted August 1, 2013 Like Cliff said, You are good to go with mil-spec receiver extension. Good choice vs. the commercial as the mil-spec is intrinsically stronger.
jermz1987 243 Posted August 2, 2013 Thanks guys. I also have a New Frontier Armory poly lower. I ended up putting the fixed collapsible stock set up from the bushmaster on it and it fit. Thought I would have to buy a commercial set up for it. One more question. Is this normal? When the stock on the lower with the Magpul kit is fully collapsed some threads are showing. From the pics I see online it looks like it covers the threads.I just want to make sure the buffer tube is on correctly before I pin it. Here is a pic of the one I saw online. Here is the pic of the one online. Last two pics are mine.
