Weird Nj?

Is centralia the place with the underground fires from the mine that's now abandoned

Yes, although its not entirely abandoned. There still 9-10 people fighting against eminent domain (Good for them! I hope they refuse down to the last one. In fact, I hope more people start moving in and thumbing their noses at the government while reviving the town, whether the state likes it or not.).

Supposedly, this town was the inspiration for "Silent Hill".

I've heard there is nothing left of that anymore

That's what I thought.  We went there a couple of times in the early 2000s.  There were only three buildings left, the main one had been destroyed.  The last trip we took we were caught by a police officer patrolling the area.  Didn't get arrested, just put in the back of the car and driven back down the road to the gate with a warning not to return.  Too bad things have gotten so uptight.

Yes golf that's it, I knew it was close to me just forgot exactly where.

It's a hoot, John. Take the pup for a ride out that way some day and when you get to the bottom of the hill, stop and admire the Pleasant Valley Schoolhouse. Here's a good stop for lunch: http://www.itsnuttsrestaurant.com/

During hurricane sandy aftermath, we were activated and sent up to Glen Gardener to help set up a medical site for a FEMA hospital in the homeless Vet place.  THey had us sleeping in the "abandoned Psych hospital" and there was a ton of creepy shit going on there!  We went up to the second floor which had NO ONE in it and randomly the phone started to ring.... We found the meat lockers where they kept the dead (it was a 2 man) and there was ALL SORTS of creepy stuff there.  I don't know if its open to the public but there aren't many people there like 4-5 maintenance people...

Don't blame the cops. NJ in particular has way to many greedy assholes who will sue at the drop of a hat. Their kid breaks into an abandoned building, screws around, gets hurt an the the parents sue because the owner didn't make it harder to break into. Can you blame the state for trying to prevent this?

100% I blame them and worse. The state shouldn't be oppressing the Citizenry to prevent lawsuits. That's totalitarian talk. Is that why we have a government? To oppress us to prevent lawsuits?

Are the cops of the state going to great lengths to error on the side of protecting your rights in their interactions with you to prevent lawsuits? Are the legislators deliberating long and hard to be sure that every statute they pass protects the rights of the Citizens to prevent lawsuits?

No, I think it's more just about oppressing the Citizenry to prevent lawsuits. Yeah, who could blame them?
