Sig P224 and HK P30 in 40

Recommended Posts

Bry@n if I weren't so far from CJ I'd go and let you shoot my P30.  I've been there once and what a great place.  I think the P30 is one of the best guns out there.  I can't think of a thing I don't like about mine.

I have a P30 lem that I love and I've converted out resident "it's a 1911 or nothing" guy Shane45.

I'm just deciding whether I will get a second 9mm p30 lem or go for a 40 lem. Love the gun.

The HK has brought me full circle back to HK and Sigs. Man I love Sigs and Hk. I will admit that I'm partial to the lem.

It only took three tries to get it right :maninlove:

1st P30 DA/SA no safety about two years ago

2nd P30s about 6 months ago

3rd P30 lem V1 this week or next :D (and a HK45CT :) )

For whatever reason I took to the LEM rather quickly. I shoot it better than any other version P30. I also can transition between my 1911 and the LEM without issue. Not so much between the P30s and the P30 lem.

I'm considering the .45 with the LEM trigger in it for myself. I'm headed to Ottomanelli's to see if they have one.

Rob, that was my plan also. To go with an hk45 lem, but I get hung on the size if the gun and that a Hk p30 in 40 would be a good compromise thinking the 40 lem might be overall better.

I'm not sure. I haven't handled the LEM or fired it. I have the P30 SA/DA and absolutely love it. It's a .40 as well. I'm ok with the full size gun but would like to handle it first. I should check to see if GFH range has any for rent.

Exactly how does your post tie into this discussion? This is based solely on HKP30, Sig P224 and the HK45.

When I mentioned Shore Shot having the HK45, I meant for rent. I rented it a few times way back.

    • I very seriously doubt this has anything to do with terrorism.    1) Harbor pilots are VERY seriously vetted, and highly trained. Not to mention extremely well paid. My experience knowing a few of them, and knowing how they are recruited and screened tells me that there is a slim to highly unlikely chance that a harbor pilot would have participated in anything like that.    2) Maintenance of foreign flag ships is well known to be dubious. Especially these days. These were NOT US flag, Jones act sailors. It was (to my understanding) a largely Indian crew on that ship, with a Ukrainian Captain. Indian crews are not exactly known for being stellar.    3) The bunkers (fuel) these ships use is ‘Bunker C’, which is a heavy, dirty fuel oil that can, and usually is, pretty contaminated. This stuff ain’t your car grade gasoline or diesel fuel. It’s nasty.   It requires nearly constant filter changes and maintenance to the engine/generators. The ship took on fuel prior to departing port, which would stir up all kinds of shit in the fuel tanks, which would contribute to particulates in the fuel lines/filters.    4) I’d say the posting of the chief engineer for Maserek above was pretty spot on as far as chain of events.    This was a shitty accident, with horrible timing and outcome. Not a terror attack.
    • I saw Lara's interview on Bannon's War Room, and that gave me pause for thought. Her conjecture depends primarily on the veracity of her sources. Regardless, if it's not applicable in any way to this ship disaster, the methods described seem valid to me. And worthy of consideration for the future. As I said before, IMO something is coming.
