JohnnyB 4,322 Posted October 23, 2013 I just purchased a Bushmaster A4 from a South Jersey gun shop. Per the list below that I found on this forum. "Bushmaster assault rifle" is listed as banned! I this is true, How could they sell it in NJ???? It also has a fore grip that is part of a Surefire light setup. Is this also legal or is the fore grip considered as another bad "feature"? Thanks for your advice. "Assault firearms" means:1. tj462nj 32 Posted October 23, 2013 I'm pretty sure your Bushmaster doesn't say 'AR' on the lower receiver, therefore it would be legal

PK90 3,570 Posted October 23, 2013 A Bushmaster Assault Firearm was a specific model that you do not have. What you have is legal.
brocglock23 4 Posted October 23, 2013 If you have still have doubts if it's legal I'll take it off your hands at 50 cents on the dollar
PK90 3,570 Posted October 23, 2013 IIRC, This is the banned rifle.
JohnnyB 4,322 Posted October 23, 2013 IIRC, This is the banned rifle. Mine is way cooler looking than that thing! and the serial # ends with 666. One thing I DON'T like about the rifle!
JohnnyB 4,322 Posted October 23, 2013 If you have still have doubts if it's legal I'll take it off your hands at 50 cents on the dollar Heck, Half would be $805.00 and that was for a used rifle!

JohnnyB 4,322 Posted October 23, 2013 guess you went to Hague's or Rayco No, Bob's Little Sport Shop. It's fully loaded with a Trijicon reflex site and many other top of the line extras. I hope I did not get ripped off. I can post a picture. I would welcome any advice if any of you think I payed more than it's worth! I know little about the AR's so I welcome your input. Nucrunner 75 Posted October 23, 2013 Haha, hope that's a 15/30 mag.....stock is fixed, bayonet lug is removed, muzzle break is pinned and welded? I think that all keeps you legal
PK90 3,570 Posted October 23, 2013 What is the 5 digit order # on the box end or UPC sticker on the hardcase?
JohnnyB 4,322 Posted October 23, 2013 What is the 5 digit order # on the box end or UPC sticker on the hardcase? I don't understand what you are asking for. I saw no sticker on the hard plastic Bushmaster case and the gun did not come in a box.
PK90 3,570 Posted October 23, 2013 Did they give you the original box? Is there a UPC sticker on the black hard case? If so, there is a 5 digit order # on them.

I did not get the original box and no # on the black case. I did call bushmaster with the serial # and they said it was made in 2008, has a chromed barrel and shipped originally to a gun shop in Elmer NJ. What else would the 5 digit # tell us??? JohnnyB 4,322 Posted October 23, 2013 Sorry. I thought you bought it new. Do you think I paid too much for it?
JohnnyB 4,322 Posted October 23, 2013 There was no wear to show it was fired much. With the Trijicon Reflex sight and mount and the Surefire light with grip and all the other extras I could find and priced on the net. It has at least $1,500.00 in add on toys in addition to the value of the rifle which is in near mint condition. The dealer told me $1,600.00 was a very fair price. But what do I know? perhaps I did get ripped off on this one. Bob Viden has been around a long time and I trusted that I would get a fair deal from his shop. I could have been mistaken. BrianN 0 Posted October 23, 2013 In the future it might be better to ask this question before you buy the gun. Nice rifle, enjoy it
