It's been a while since I have been on the forums So I figure Why not start some pictures. The stacks would have looked better if they were all the same rifles, But I don't own enough of any one type of rifle. The Japanese stack probably would have looked better with two Type-38's and a Type-30 since they are closer in size, But I figured two Type-99's and a Type-38 fit better next to two M1 Garands and a M1903A3 Springfield.
(The M1's are Korean War vintage not WWII which would technically not make them old enemies but I figure it was close enough for artistic purposes)

I have a CMP M1 Garand that came with a new Boyd Stock. I disassembled the stock and can see in the hidden areas that the stock was stained.
Does anyone know if they also applied any finish on top of the stain and if so what type of finish it is?
To my completely untrained eye it looks like stained raw wood but it would be great to get some expert opinions on this.
Thanks in advance.

Great news. I received an email from CMP that they received my order for a Garand. They are saying it will be at least 30-60 days. I can wait. At least I got it in before the deadline. The order was received 05/16 (the last date for orders) so I will probably get one of the last ones they build (until they open it up again). I have to pickup some ammo now.

Was stored in an attic for unknown number of years, but cleaned up rather nicely. Did not pass through CMP/DCM per their records.

My CDefense has a way different bullet profile / ogive than my CDuty..............easy to tell apart. -
I don't know anything about Baltimore Harbor; but yes; currents really can be that strong. A big cargo ship like that isn't very maneuverable. Most of the shipboard systems and controls are electric. If the lights go out, they have big, big trouble.

I understand the tide was going out at the time of the accident. Tide/currents/wind plays a big role against big ships
