Range/Defense Ammo For Kimber .45 1911 Custom II

Recommended Posts

I've put about 1k rds down the pipe of my kimber custom II and it will eat anything you put in it.  I purchased it from another forum member who had several hundred rounds though it before that.

I don't use my Kimber for defense but Federal HST premium HP ammo has performed well in .45 defense ammo for me.  For target ammo go to slickguns.com, make an account, and put .45 ammo in you alerts.  You will get an email as soon as anything comes in stock in your caliber for your price point.  I haven't bought any since last year, but then I was paying $300/case shipped for brass case 230gr fmj ammo.

I wouldnt go spending loads of money on HD stuff to use for target practice at the range. Get some regular old bulk fmj for range use and a couple hundred of HD stuff (HP). When looking for hollow point HD ammo i would highly recommend looking up TNOUTDOORS on youtube, he does ALOT of ammo testing of all calibers and is a great resource for picking good HD ammo.
