I just got one of those offers in the mail from them yesterday also. Except mine was $500 for life member with tactical jacket.

 

What's the difference between "life member" & "endowment life member"?

I got my weekly renewal letter (even though my membership expires in 2016) and I had the $500 + jacket offer.

Received the same letter upgrade for $250.00, Looked up what an endowment lifetime and this is what I found

 

Contributory Life Memberships
(Offered to Fully Paid Life Members)

 

Endowment Member $2,000 Patron Member $3,500 Benefactor Member $5,000

 

Endowment, Patron and Benefactor members are eligible to vote in NRA elections, receive special recognition at NRA events, and are sent credentials including a certificate suitable for framing, a lapel pin, a decal, a patch, and a new membership card so you can proudly display your membership status.

Members are entitled to a credit based on the current value of whatever level of life membership they now hold. [For example: If you are already an Endowment member (currently valued at $2,000) you need only pay the additional $1,500 to reach $3,500 and the Patron level]

Please contact Membership Division at 1-800-672-3888 (option # 3) between the hours of 8:30 AM and 5:00 PM EST, Monday through Friday to become an Endowment, Patron or Benefactor Member.

Outside of those business hours, please leave a message and a Life Membership Specialist will return your call the following business day.

They probably mean that those on the upgrade to life payment plan are not eligible.

Here's a question: Would a Federal assault weapons ban be detrimental to anyone in New Jersey?

 

I contribute to the NRA and other national organizations, and NJ focused organizations, in proportion to the threat I perceive.

 

If a bad law passes in NJ, I can move out.

 

If a bad law passes Federally, I have no where to go. Except possibly France. (Good wine and food, but no guns.)

 

Consider that when formulating your donation strategy.

I am glad the NRA doesn't waste money on New Jersey. We are a lost cause. Most Jerseyans like our retarded gun laws. And they like goods and services paid for by others taxes, so we will keep electing more of the same liberal jackasses. I am happy the NRA's money is spent in battleground states where it will do some good.
