Pat McNamara 2 day pistol class Princeton NJ

Recommended Posts

A police officer, I forget what town, put a round through the loading table as he was putting his gear away.  Other than that I don't have much info as I was still on the range shooting when it happened.

Why is it going to go South?

I am more concerned that there was an ND behind the firing line that wasn't addressed by anyone and they were allowed to stay in class.

There would have most definitely been a "counseling session" if I was there whether I was the instructor or not.

I heard the "lanes" at the end were a little "spicy" too.

I also heard that someone cut their hand pretty badly with a ricochet and that a couple of ER nurses in class had to handle a few bleeding students.

I wouldn't say the guy who NDed was allowed to stay in the class as it happened when he was putting his gear away at the end of the day.  Pat also stopped those who were still running drills when it happened and gave an additional safety lecture.

The guy who got cut by lead splatter off of steel is a friend of mine, and it was a small cut that bled pretty good, and was immediately addressed by a nurse and doctor (the doctor also being a friend of the cut guy) who were attending the class.

    • Perhaps multiple people. I'd think Baldwin (shooter and Producer), AD, armorer, and the unknown person who put live rounds in the gun could be charged.
    • A common statement I see in defense of Baldwin is "actors are not responsible, that's what a prop master, armorer and/or AD are for". Also, "it's the way Hollywood does it, they've always done it that way". That reminds me of the defenses of the casting couch behavior as well, but that's not what this thread is about.  Ian Hudson was an actor on Rust and on the same set. Here is what he was quoted as saying:  <Hudson says the other, more experienced actors checked their weapons 2 or 3 times after they received them from the armorer, and it didn't matter whether they were told the gun was "cold" or "hot." Baldwin did not check the weapon, but rather relied on the assistant director who assured him the gun was "cold.">  So, that contradicts the common defense that actor's do not check the condition of a firearm. I think  when he said "other, more experienced actors" he means compared to himself, not the killer, but I could be wrong. Link: https://www.tmz.com/2021/10/26/rust-actor-shooting-camera-protection-alec-baldwin/ Then I came across this video of actor Jeffrey Wright. In this video he states he has never not had someone show him a gun was clear before taking possession of it. I can easily see this video being used as evidence, or Jeffrey Wright and Ian Hudson being called to the stand to refute the whole "the actor is not responsible" BS. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tkeCK13G1NM  I've also seen (didn't copy the link, but it shouldn't be too hard to find) the liability insurance policy was for "only" 6 million. And if there was a clause in the policy regarding negligence, the insurer could refuse to pay out anyway. Some media outlets are making it sound like the New Mexico DA is leaning towards bringing criminal charges against someone. Who is the big question.
    • Good evening, I am able to sign in, but as soon as I switch to another forum I have to sign in again. I also have trouble sending pms or posting replies, I have to keep going back to sign in. Sometimes I am able to post replies or send pms after multiple attempts. Never happened before, happening now on my tablet and desktop pc. Sometimes after trying to post I get a notice saying my previous content has been restored. I click the x and it sends the post. Help!
