CMJeepster 2,777 Posted December 18, 2013 Nobody has mentioned Range Rover yet? I hear they're popular and customer service is great. In fact I read somewhere that a dealer in Newark went all the way to Short Hills to pick one up... Funny. Might be too soon, but funny. We had one for 18 months. 'Nuff said. Traded it in for an Explorer. Currently around 160k miles with less than $2k into non-wearable maintenance since 2005. I'm trying to get the wife to trade it in, but she doesn't want to since it's been so good to us.
AlexTheSane 236 Posted December 18, 2013 So I've written off the Dodge Journey and am planning to test drive the 2014 Hyundai Santa Fe Limited and a 2014 Honda Pilot EX-L.

Wont look back. My wife loved her Accords till we went with Lexus.

Mr.Stu 1,916 Posted December 19, 2013 If you have another suggestion my criteria are: New, up to $35k, AWD or 4x4, 7 passenger, not a full size SUV. It sounds to me like one vehicle will fit the bill perfectly - Toyota Sienna AWD.
Jon 264 Posted December 20, 2013 You should look into the Rav 4 or the Cayenne.
djg0770 481 Posted December 20, 2013 MRAP for the win. Supposedly you can get them real cheap from your local PD surplus auction.
Michael2013 56 Posted December 22, 2013 I have KIA Sorrento AWD V6, 7 seats and below 35K. Korean brand but American made.
tony357 386 Posted December 22, 2013 Did you purchase yet ?
virpacalis 1 Posted December 22, 2013 I'd pick the Santa Fe or a Pilot. The former I believe is quicker and has a higher towing rating. A used MDX might work too.
AlexTheSane 236 Posted December 22, 2013 Did you purchase yet ? Not yet. I'm planning on hitting a KIA and Honda dealership next week.
njpilot 671 Posted December 22, 2013 Just one point in case it matters to you Alex. If mileage is a concern, just realize that the Pilot is a bigger, heavier vehicle than the others and doesn't get as good mileage as the Hyundai or Kia. Not to say the Pilot isn't a good choice, but the mileage is a factor for some.
71ragtopgoat 23 Posted December 23, 2013 Handa Honda Honda!!! And after 200K miles you will be telling people the same thing.
Burns 16 Posted December 23, 2013 Not yet. I'm planning on hitting a KIA and Honda dealership next week. End of month and end of the year is usually a great time to buy a car. I would also vote for a Honda, the wife has them and loves them.
CMJeepster 2,777 Posted December 23, 2013 End of month and end of the year is usually a great time to buy a car. I just read an article the other day that the week between Christams and New Year's Eve is the best week of the year. Too bad I'm not shopping yet...
