Changing out my EAA Zastava PAP Thumbhole Stock

Recommended Posts

I'm thinking I'm going to change out my EAA Zastava PAP thumb hole stock to a normal stock and pistol grip. Yes, I know there are threads on how to deal with the slant cut receiver all over the internet. Trust me, I've been researching and reading about what needs to be done everyday for about a week now... Unfortunately, I'm just as confused as when I started researching the topic...

From what I understand, I have a slant cut receiver, limiting what I can/can't do. Online it says if I wanted to put a regular AK stock on it, I'd have to get some kind of conversion piece (something like: http://riflestocks.com/store/product35.html i think). Or I could get a Yugo stock, and it would bolt up w/o modification. When I try to search for Yugo stocks, all that pop up are SKS stock kits.

I really want to replace the thumb hole stock with something like this: http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/product/AKS-032 -and- http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/product/3-1029164. A flat dark earth (sand colored) solid stock, kinda like an A2 stock.

What do I have to do to make this happen!? I'm sorry for bringing up something that's been gone over multiple times already. lol

You should verify with the mfg., but I believe this is what you need:

From what I was reading, VEPR and Zastava Pap are similar but diff stock setups... Although, as I said above, I'm deff not an expert by any means on the subject, so I may've been reading it wrong... My Zastava's receiver certainly looks like the VEPR's though, so maybe it will... I'll deff give EAA a call bout it tomorrow morning

A search turned up this: https://www.apexgunparts.com/product_info.php/cPath/21_71/products_id/1610  It looks like the trunnion in Nick's post, but when I read the description, it says fits M72/M71b stocks, nothing about the receiver...

Now everything I'm reading is pointing to this adapter working, granted it's for a slant receiver, even though I'm positive I read somewhere that there'll be some kind of fitting problem...

I don't think I'm going to change out the trunnion. Might go this route:

http://riflestocks.com/store/product35.html - to the receiver

http://riflestocks.com/store/product29.html - to the adapter

http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/product/2-MPIMAG404FDE - to the adapter via buffer tube

Thoughts?

WTS 7.62 x 39 ammo.   I have 4000 rounds of 7.62 x 39 ammo.  All steel cased.  Most are Barnaul.  Some boxes are Red Ops and Red Army.  Most of the Barnaul is either in a sealed spam can or boxes, but some was removed from a previous spam can and placed into ammo cans as loose ammo.   Spam can comes with an opener.  I sold my AKM rifle and no longer have a need for the ammo.
Please message me with any questions.
I will sell the entire lot for $1,000 ($0.25 per round), so it's a pretty good deal.  For the ammunition that is in an ammo can, the sale comes with the ammo cans.  Happy to send photos and chat live.   I am in central New Jersey.

      ITEM SOLD

I have a recently acquired Zastava ZPAP M70 (black Hogue furniture), already NJ compliant with a sweet Lantac brake, Zastava scope mount, and a Zastava triangle stock (comes with the pad, you will thank me).  Comes with a 10 round magazine.
Recent production, purchased new in May of this year.  With the exception of the upgraded Zastava Triangle Stock and the Lantac Muzzle Brake, everything else is original as when purchased.
It has under 200 rounds through it.  I acquired a few of these and then had the opportunity to add a WBP Jack to my collection, so I have to give up one of my prized Zastavas.
Asking $950 $900, which is a deal considering the brake, triangle stock, Zastava scope mount, pad, and labor for the compliance work already done (only the brake needed compliance work).   Comes with the original slanted brake, just to have.
      It's in mint condition.
I am in Monmouth county and can drop it off at Legend Firearms or Howell Gun Works to handle the transfer after payment received, so you can go whenever you want to do the NICS to pick up and it will be there for you.
