Gun Guy in NJ 10 Posted January 14, 2014 I love my Henry!
Malice4you 627 Posted January 14, 2014 Always a favorite gun to shoot, I love plinking with it. My only complaint about my H001 is the loading procedure, it feels so wrong to have to put my hand so close to the muzzle, even though I know it is safe to do so... Rick_F 5 Posted January 14, 2014 I'm pretty sure you can also shoot 22 shorts, and since it's cycled by the lever, you can use sub-sonics that won't cycle a semi-auto. You will always be able to find ammo.
Night Prowler 0 Posted January 14, 2014 Great gun.
manwithnoname 0 Posted January 14, 2014 Many thanks. I thought I would buy the base model and use the savings for ammo!
tafkas 0 Posted January 14, 2014 Where does it stand with the "magazine" capacity-22 rounds of 22 short? Would that make it hi-cap illegal?
matty 810 Posted January 14, 2014 Lever gun, not a semi, AWB does not apply. Oh and i LOVE my Golden Boy. Decided to go for bling on it, it's my favorite rifle
nitrospaz9 10 Posted January 14, 2014 Love my little .22. Bought it to teach my nephew to shoot but I ended up using it a lot more then him

BERTUS 0 Posted January 14, 2014 Great rifles, 100% American made right in Bayonne NJ. Got a Golden boy in .22 and a big biy in .44 mag. Should have bought the standard, the Brass is almost to nice to scratch.
T Bill 649 Posted January 15, 2014 You will love it. Take a look here www.skinnersights.com they make an awesome pair of sights for this rifle. With these you don't even want a RDS.

Blueskybob 12 Posted January 21, 2014 I have both the Standard and the Carbine with the Big Loop and like them both. Very smooth action. Go to the Henry Site under Accessories and pick up a Spee-D-Loader. It is well worth the $20!
kurtinnj 9 Posted January 21, 2014 I have a H001 with an optic sight mounted, love it. It's my go to 22.
Grapeshot 301 Posted January 21, 2014 I've got the frontier model (octagon barrel), and it's become my favorite small game rifle (I hunt in PA). Buy it, you won't be disappointed.
notmetoo 41 Posted January 21, 2014 I have to say... All these good things being said - I need to get one of these now! But which one?
manwithnoname 0 Posted January 21, 2014 Getting the youth model, excited to pick it up Thanks for all the good advice!
Malice4you 627 Posted January 22, 2014 I'm not sure you can go wrong with any Henry. Only thing I'd say is to consider if you like heavy barrel guns or not - I impulse bought the H001, the basic thin barrel lever .22, but I tend to like heavy barrel guns, and I would like one of the octagon barreled models eventually...H001T or H001TM. Also consider if you like the Golden Boys...I'm not a fan of the brass/gold look, so those don't appeal much to me. I'm not saying I regret my purchase, my Henry is one of my favorite guns to shoot, but I think what it means is I just need to buy a second Henry... http://henryrepeating.com/henry-rifles.cfm
kurtinnj 9 Posted February 4, 2014 Go with the the H001T, the octagon barrel is just plain beautiful. Will bring a better resale price down the road if you want to sell it. I put a sight on mine looks awsome, love it.
