How do these jokers have time for all this nonsense when we have real problems in this state, like unemployment, high taxes, people that don't obey laws using guns to kill honest citizens.  When will the Sheeple of NJ wake up and throw these jokers out of office?

Same as last year.

We'll show up by the hundreds and tell them not to do it, a dozen people will be flown in in favor of the new laws.  We'll call our senators and assemblymen, send faxes, and write letters.  We'll outnumber those in favor of these laws 10 to 1 in every way.

They'll pass them anyway and the governor will veto them.

Same will happen in 2015.

but in 2016, our governor finds out that he's not going to be president and he can stop pretending to be a constitutional loving conservative.  That's when it gets bad for us.

Maybe that day, everyone will wake up and realize the Republican party and all of it's mainstream media figureheads have been pretending to be conservatives for the last, oh, 30 or years or so. But I'm not gonna hold my breath.

And I agree: 2016 is going to be a bad year.

I will say this again, it's because we are not uniform in our efforts. We are 1mm strong and act as if we are 3 people using spoons to empty water on the Titanic

Dude that's a perfect analogy.

If each person takes someone to the range that has never shot, it will have exponential effects. We don't need more laws on top of laws we need a change of mindset in the populace.

Ive never had someone go to the range that hated it...they always ask to go again and ask if they can bring someone.

This is exactly what I have been doing, started with my wife (who now loves shooting), then some friends, some of which even joined the range after they got an FID and their first gun.

I am also going to start writing ALL of the bill sponsors explaining why these bills are nothing more than an attack on honest, law abiding citizens and explain why they won't do anything to curb gun violence.  We all need to stick together and never stop fighting and educating others.

This reminds me of a line of thought I had a long time ago that I haven't recalled for awhile. We all know that gun control laws are often passed because some people just don't like guns and just don't trust their neighbors - it is rarely intended to have any affect on crime. And we all know that much of the ever-expanding government and restriction of our rights is due to a desire to control, micro-manage, and often to put the pieces in place for Progressiveism and Socialism.

But you bring up another interesting point that I long ago forgot. Restricting our rights cost almost nothing. Firearms are a hot button issue right now as we all know. These people can get a lot of points from their constituencies and political supporters for simply proposing this garbage.

Well lets see we just elected Cory Booker to the senate. And are about to re-elect him. Our so called conservative Governor presides over one of the brokest big spending state governments in US history. His jusdicial appointments are based on skin color ,sex or sexual orientation. Plus he hugs Springsteen and Obama.

One of the leaders in the state Senate Like things like watching "You got knocked the F%#$K out and big butt bootie call.

Errr yeah we stand a good chance of being given total consideration of our concerns.

that is your issue right there..

Yes, if it's the tens or hundreds of thousands, it will scare them. But in other states like NY, CT and CO, they showed up en masse and still got steamrolled. Understand, these legislators aren't there to forge goodwill with voters. They're there to do as much damage as possible and get away with it. Even though Colorado recalled two senators and one more resigned, you can be sure their gun law isn't going to be repealed. NY SAFE is also a done deal. CT enhanced SAFE/AWB is also a done deal. You need a complete takeover to reverse.

So showing up is nice but there has to be heads rolling for them to pay attention.

Looks like we are going to have this same fight every year. The likely outcome is that most will be defeated; but they will ram a few through, then a few more next year, and a few more the year after that. And they will gradually strangle us.

I agree.

After Al Gore lost his own state of Tennessee in the 2000 election, I think Democrats at a federal level have largely figured out Gun Control is a losing issue.  That's part of the reason why there hasn't been a significant piece of GC legislation after decades of it (1934 NFA, 1968 GCA, 1986 FOPA, 1994 AWB) even after events like Tucson.

Until it becomes a "losing issue" here in NJ, I think the antis in NJ Assembly will largely act with impunity.  When I look at the district map here, I have to believe there are certain opportunities to make a statement with a concerted grassroots effort.

Yeah I see the big stink being raised in PA over the state attorney rolling back CCW rights and pushing her anti agenda.

The only difference I see is in your state is your state constitution NOT the people

http://www.nj.com/news/index.ssf/2011/04/redistricting_committee_approv.html

The democratic proposed and implemented redistricting plan didn't help either. It solidifies the dems hold on the statehouse.

5 republicans / 5 democrats bad one " independent " placed on the board ny the NJ SC.

Districts in north jersey (cities) have less people in them than south jersey (rural /suburban ). Leading to more representation at the statehouse.

Even with Christie's landslide in November the legislative balance hardly tipped.

That being said I always get out to vote and get like minded friends to do so as well.

I admittedly have not been watching that nonsense... what CCW are being rolled back? I have not heard anything about it?

This is a very important point for all of us to realize.  We always argue that gun control only hurts law abiding gun owners.  That argument does not work.  When the other side hears us say that they think: "Good".  They fear law abiding gun owners more than they fear crime because we live right next door to their kids and crime happened two blocks away.

The drop only concerns non-residents.  Most citizens of a states could care less if non-residents lose their CCW.

its not that they dont care.. it was an issue with PA residents circumventing the PA process for concealed carry... the effect on people from NJ carrying in PA was IMO unintentional.. and not the focus of the change..

Sooooo true, it is an actual political tactic based on red herring attention grabbing.

When a politician has no other means of proving their worth they typically create some bogeyman that diverts attention away from their incompetence.  Many years ago it was prohibition (an accurate metaphor for banning sales of certain types of guns), if you can scare a population enough about any single item and then focus all of your political efforts against that item you look like a hero and get reelected.
