EWC88 24 Posted February 26, 2014 While at a gun store today the guy was talking to me how he has his own steel plates in his backyard where he will shoot at time to time. It got me to wonder how does someone go about doing this legally? Do you need certain amount of property? Does it have to be with a certain round? My girlfriends parents house has a lot of acres and during the warm days it is VERY common to hear gun shots.

Oakridgefirearms 224 Posted February 26, 2014 Firearms discharging is regulated by municipalities in NJ, so you'll need to check with the town if it's allowed. You will also need to have an appropriate back stop and be shooting in a save direction.
