1836 Johnson Flintlock help

Recommended Posts

I picked up a 1836 Johnson dated 1838 flintlock a few years back while working and living out of state. I thought it was a cool piece to have, turns out besides sitting in the safe I don't have much interest in this era of collectibles. While it's not perfect and has decent pitting, it's still a 176 year old piece of history.

Being more of a C&R Rifle guy where do find the best place to sell this that someone else would appreciate it? Besides the obvious gunbroker, I'm looking for something more local. Thanks Posted Image

    • Not in NJ. Not sure what your issue is.
    • You can put an AFG/Handstop on a pistol with no change in its definition - as per ATF. An AFG/handstop on this “Firearm” would make this a pistol - making it illegal in N.J. based on our AW laws. For ATF Definition purposes: True Vertical Grip =\= AFG or handstop
    • You can be below 26 for pistols as long as you dont add a vertical grip. If you have more up to date information then I'm all for it.
    • I feel like this thread has gone full circle and its about to go around again since some people arent reading the full thread.
