raz-0 1,259 Posted March 31, 2014 Most expensive is about $1800 least expensive was about $658, but I'd have a hard time reproducing that price. Everything was on sale, used, bought form someone who won it at a match, blemished, or some other thing that caused it to be discounted significantly. My main is very similar but I have an eotech EXPS-2 and a vortex magnifier on it. I probably broke 2k on that one then. The other got a $200 trigger, $250 glass and a (used) DD free float rail and raptor recently as well. I liked it better when I didn't know how much I spent. MandM 2 Posted April 2, 2014 I kept a spreadsheet during the build. Mainly for my own knowledge, doing things smarter/cheaper on the second build, etc. 16" mid-length complete upper (Accessory Arms: 1:7 CL/CHF, lo-pro gas block, FSC556 pinned/welded, no handguards/delta ring) - $560 Centurion C4 12" - $280 Spikes lower (LGS) - $120 FailZero NiB BCG - $180 Spikes ST2 buffer - $30 Geissele SSA - $180 Magpul UBR - $250 Magpul MIAD - $30 Troy Tritium DOA BUIS - $220 Magpul AFGv2 - $30 ACOG TA-31H - $1000 $2700 before mags, ammo, light, mount, sling, case. Including that stuff (but not including ammo) I'm probably within spitting distance of $3500.

I haven't received it yet, but most have good things to say about their products. Just don't be in a hurry for anything from them.

Holy crap dude, did you have to refinance your house to get that? lol jk, just out of curiosity because ill never have the funds to justify getting one how do you like the ACOG? Do you think its worth extra 4-500 over other optics like aimpoint or eotech?

Do you think its worth extra 4-500 over other optics like aimpoint or eotech? Glass on the acog is very clear and the reticle is very easy to pick up while moving and at distance. At the range last week we were hitting a 3" steel disc consistently at 200yds with ease. I even had a new shooter hit it consecutive times. The acog isnt perfect but is def worth the money. Blake 50 Posted April 4, 2014 C'mon bro just jump in and buy a Noveske already. All jokes a side my Noveske rifle is my favorite ar and I shoot better with it than my bcm, dd, and colt.
Vlad G 345 Posted April 4, 2014 My problem with the Acog is that it is much slower at close distances then variable or a dot.

Do you think its worth extra 4-500 over other optics like aimpoint or eotech? Thankfully no refinancing necessary! It wasn't too tough to swallow, because I only bought stuff when the wallet allowed. It took some time, but I used the downtime to do research and stuff so when it finally was all done, I was 100% satisfied. I love my ACOG, but YMMV. But comparing a magnified ACOG to a EoTech or an Aimpoint isn't apples to apples. Different purposes. (And by the time you put a good magnifier and mount on your AR to get magnification with an Eo or Aimpoint... you'll be in ACOG price range anyway.) Yeah a fixed magnification optic is slower in close than a red dot optic. But I didn't build this AR for close quarters. It all really depends on what you're building the AR for, what purpose. That will define your gear.
Boejoula 0 Posted April 4, 2014 C'mon bro just jump in and buy a Noveske already. No, I need to stop lol. I just emptied my "toys" account on optics because the EOtech group buy fell apart. Well I ordered a few other things too.
monmouth 19 Posted April 6, 2014 My .308 gasser that I built with optic cost $5000.00 My field bag with all the tools, not including spotter, another $1000.00 easily. Now that I have it dialed in, it's a real shooter. 100y zero, sub .5moa no problem, should get 3 all touching. Very Quick hold over drill with zero elevation from 300y-475y spread out, stupid easy. 600m cold bore shot, ring! 705y quick follow up from a first round hit, ring ring! 1000y shot as long as I read the wind changes, ring! Anyone who says a gasser can't hang, let me know.
