hg easton hours

I apologize for hijacking your thread but if you gentlemen don't mind can you explain what I should expect going to EFGA for the first time (will be purchasing my pass online). Will I have to set anything up? Or can I just show up, show membership, get assigned a bench depending on where I want to shoot and go at it for my hour? I usually shoot at HG when I can make time to get out there but would like to try the 100 yard range. As well as enjoy some outdoor time.

EFGA is nothing like HG. When you go to any of the ranges (pistol, rifle, rimfire, etc) you will have to sign in. The book is usually in mail box. From there you will have to wait until the range is cold to unpack your stuff and set up any targets. Bring your stapler!

I don't know if I'm leaving anything out. I'm pretty new there myself. Bring your receipt as your pass.

Depending on when you go you might be the only person there. There is no full time RSO, only popular times usually. The standing rule is the first person on the range is to act as RSO if others arrive. Normally it is just a case of agreeing with the other shooters when to call a ceasefire for target changes.

You should bring a piece of cardboard (backing for your target) as a backup cause sometimes the plywood that are hung up of put off to the side might not have anything to staple too or nothing left holding the wood together. You can use the hooks that are on the old targets to mount your stuff too. Keep in mind you have to bring everything with you cause there is no store selling any ammo or renting guns.

Dicks sporting is not too far away to get your ammo or targets though.

    • In 50 years of living in NJ I've never experienced any attempt to inspect the interior of the home, and only one definite inspection of the exterior for an announced reassessment of all properties and that was a drive by. About 9 years of that was living in an apartment, but still, uncommon. Every place I lived had either a finished attic, basement, or both. But they were also included in the habitable square footage on the taxes when we got there.
    • 27.00 and change in tolls to drive down the shore from Rutherford,  47.00 in tolls to go out to Long island to visit dying relatives. Now I read they are going to raise the fees in the DMV. Murphy lied just to get elected when he said that seniors will get a significant tax break with his StayNJ" program to stop us from leaving.   Keep voting for democrats...this is what you get.  Tax and spend is all they know.  Never cut anything.  This state sucks.
    • I get the added benefit that since I have a TSP rather than a true 401(k) they tax my retirement too. Yaaaay!
