H&K VP9 - Striker fired HK Product Sheets

Recommended Posts

Every one of my guns has a hammer... I like the old guns the best.

Agreed.

I'll probably buy a striker fired gun someday. But:

A. I'm not a semi-auto guy

B. There are a lot of revolvers still waiting for my $.

C. I don't carry and if I did, it would be a wheel gun.

D. I prefer long guns for HD, then revolvers, so...

E. Considering C and D, the DA/SA issue is not an issue. At the range, I just start off SA.

F. I can't justify buying a GLOCK, et al, before I have a couple of 1911s, a Beretta 92FS (and maybe, just maybe, a PPK)

Hyatt Guns (Special Order - says 4-6 weeks for delivery)

Knesek Guns (says in stock) not reliable source

So I assume our local guys should be able to order it too.

Someone hurry up and get one so I can decide

that didn't really look like a short reset

Yeah PPQ looks shorter.

No care, still buying it.

Me too!

Guys on the HK forum mentioned that Knesek has a history of saying they have stuff in stock and then changing orders to "backordered" for months before delivery, and people have had issues getting orders canceled and refunded. I'll be waiting until a NJ dealer gets their sticky paws on it before plunking down the cash.

If offered in the .45 I'll definitely pick one up. I'm interested in seeing the bore Axis compared to the ppq. I like the sight style, night sight availability, and charging supports as well.

Don't think I would dump my 9mm ppq for it though.

I didn't think HK offered night sights, just the glow in the darks...

They could take some pink airsoft sights, sprinkle them with glitter, and put them on the gun and I would still buy it.

H&K seems to be pushing the VP9 pretty hard. They have a fancy flash intro on their website (prominently featuring the price, and some fancy photos). Then, when that's done, it doesn't take you to the homepage, but rather, to the VP9 product page.

It looks like they're trying to address the "because you suck and we hate you" crowd. They aimed for a lower price. They're focusing on the trigger, which every review of every H&K gun complains about.

I just hope someone told them about the typo on their website (not as bad as loading bullets backwards though).

I get better prices on the glock. I will get a glock.

You should get Blue prices don't you from Glock dealers that qualify?

    • I very seriously doubt this has anything to do with terrorism.    1) Harbor pilots are VERY seriously vetted, and highly trained. Not to mention extremely well paid. My experience knowing a few of them, and knowing how they are recruited and screened tells me that there is a slim to highly unlikely chance that a harbor pilot would have participated in anything like that.    2) Maintenance of foreign flag ships is well known to be dubious. Especially these days. These were NOT US flag, Jones act sailors. It was (to my understanding) a largely Indian crew on that ship, with a Ukrainian Captain. Indian crews are not exactly known for being stellar.    3) The bunkers (fuel) these ships use is ‘Bunker C’, which is a heavy, dirty fuel oil that can, and usually is, pretty contaminated. This stuff ain’t your car grade gasoline or diesel fuel. It’s nasty.   It requires nearly constant filter changes and maintenance to the engine/generators. The ship took on fuel prior to departing port, which would stir up all kinds of shit in the fuel tanks, which would contribute to particulates in the fuel lines/filters.    4) I’d say the posting of the chief engineer for Maserek above was pretty spot on as far as chain of events.    This was a shitty accident, with horrible timing and outcome. Not a terror attack.
    • I saw Lara's interview on Bannon's War Room, and that gave me pause for thought. Her conjecture depends primarily on the veracity of her sources. Regardless, if it's not applicable in any way to this ship disaster, the methods described seem valid to me. And worthy of consideration for the future. As I said before, IMO something is coming.
