Any Cigar smokers here?

Recommended Posts

Ok, it was a staff study, but not an official agency position. There was a fair bit of data cited, they did what statistics they could with the sample sizes they had, and I'd characterize the overall results as not too alarming

Thanks for posting the links.

Yeah - they're not going to say it officially since they're trying to regulate regulate regulate now on premium cigars (vs the cheap crap you get behind the counter at a gas station).

I've been smoking cigars for 25 years roughly. Usually only a couple a week, depends on the weather as I don't smoke in my house. With nicer weather coming I'll be smoking more often. I used to go to Mahogany(in winter) on walnut st. in Philadelphia above Holt's but saw the owner acting badly twice and haven't been back. That was quite a few years ago and I think Holt's now owns the cigar bar above the shop. It was a great place, could be in there all day and come out not stinking of ashes. My favorite wrapper is Cameroon, Oliva Serie G, Fuente Hemingway line to name a couple. One of my favorite cigars is a Padilla Habano, smoked more of them then anything else. Used to love the La Gloria Serie R #6 until Carrillo left the company and they changed the blend, still have a couple left in my cabinet humidor though. The biggest let down of a cigar I ever had was a Fuente Opus X A in it's own coffin, terrible burn, tight draw. Davidoff special C was another good one till they were discontinued. The first cigar I ever smoked was a Royal Jamaica churchill, very mild, good beginner cigar, no longer made however. Flavored stuff has never wowed me but did nauseate me a couple times. As for maduros, Ashton aged line, CAO MX2, Kristoff Maduro, Fuente Anejo, Famous 3000 are pretty good.  Smoke what you like and lie what you smoke!

Nick, were those freebies? If so it might the ticket price justifiable.

All freebies.  Some of the extras (Undercrown Manifesto Coffin, Liga A Coffin, the 3 UC Flying Pigs & the 3 sticks to the right of them) were because I know some people who work with Drew Estate.  But everything else was obtainable at the event.

I paid $258 for the event tickets - Base ticket + shirt & hat upgrade.

I just did some research on the cigars that I got.... and the swag.... Value is up over $675.  Not including the Bag/AshTray/Humidor... So with that it's over $750 probably of stuff.

I need to find a decent cheap cigar as a daily smoker. $2-$3 nic-fit sticks, cant afford to be smokin $8-$15+  ones every day . I'll save them for weekends, bbq's or whenever else. And no weirdo fruit flavors, any suggestions? And easy on the blasphemy......

Try Cigars International.  I've always ordered from them and never disappointed.  Plenty of samplers to select from.
