Oakley Jacket 2.0 glasses found at the Stafford WMA Saturday around 1pm (11/32/13) at one of the shooting tables, They most likely belong to a man that was sharing a table with some friends and I, he was with what I guess was his young son. Really want to return them.
What kind of gun were you shooting? (confirms ownership)
One of my references told me that they sent him a little letters and basically a small questionnaire about me. Now my other reference is currently out of the country for a few weeks on an achealogical dig, no joke. So now for my question... Is it required to have a reply from both of the reference in order for my application to be completed? Thanks for any help.
Hi all - I stumbled upon this forum tonight because I'm in search of an answer to my question.
I'm a travel nurse and NJ resident who is currently living in Texas for the next few months. I'm interested in purchasing a pistol for home defense. From the topics I've searched on the forums it sounds like I'll have to go to a NJ local or state police department to obtain a license... Am I missing something?
Will making a special trip back to NJ be the only way I can obtain a gun license? Or can I just walk into a local police station here in Houston and do the required paperwork dispute being an out of state resident?
I apologize if this has been discussed before... I did search through forum topics with license in the title and didn't find an answer to my question.
This mindset baffles me.
Shooting is a depreciating skill. If you don't practice, you will become worse at it.
If you value your life enough to want to defend it, why would you rely on a skill that you don't practice? If the best I can do on a good day is scrape a pass on CCARE, I would be determined to get better at shooting - and yes I did see that you scored 98% - but your attitude appears to be that you shouldn't have to practice first.
Trying to give you the benefit of the doubt, perhaps you mean that the government should not mandate that you have to meet any kind of standard before you can carry. I agree. There should not be any mandated quals. However, only a fool would be carrying a gun he can't use effectively. It does little to protect himself and creates a danger to everyone else because the misses will go on to hit something or someone after they miss the intended target.
