Howard 538 Posted July 4, 2014 Voted. I have posted this in other places, but just added it to their comment section: Senator Loretta Weinberg is a total tool with her BS comment about who needs 15 rounds. The people that need 15 rounds, besides sports shooters, are homeowners and business owners who have to be able to defend themselves from armed intruders that the democrats in this state do nothing to incarcerate though their revolving door of second chances. Unlike in the movies where one bullet stops a bad guy and he immediately falls down dead – it doesn’t work that way in real life. But those that have never touched a gun or researched it are clueless. Often it takes many direct hits to stop a person, and even then they don’t die immediately and may still be shooting back at you for many minutes. Police are trained and know quite well that you keep shooting until a threat is neutralized. Why is it Loretta is so clueless to that reality? What is an honest citizen to do when confronted by a gang of gunmen when they only have one magazine, which is already restricted from the typical 30 rounds size uses in most states? It would be nice if some of these left-wing politicians would actually go to a gun range and get some training before they try to legislate from zero first-hand knowledge. The fact that they are clueless on so many things means lobbying controls everything. It’s time for our lawmakers to actually gain some basic knowledge before they try to cram more laws down our throats. Then there is Steven Sweeney who is out for one thing and one thing only – Steven Sweeney. Last year he swore that he would never vote to reduce magazine size below 15 rounds as it was a stupid concept that would do nothing. This year he gained religion, that means he read the tea leaves and thought switching his side of the issue would be better for his political future. He is the worst type of politician – the one that twists in the wind with little to no moral compass. Shame on him. The bottom line, as the governor accurately states, the problem is people with mental issues – not objects. What next, ban cars that can go faster than 65? Limit kitchen knives sets to no more than five knives? The answer is not to deprive honest citizens of property but rather to control those with mental problems and punish criminals severely. How about a law that penalizes criminals for each bullet they fire? If you commit a crime and fire 4 shots you serve the time for the crime plus another four years for those four shots. If we do something like that we could motivate these animals not to use guns as it will be too costly to them, while not depriving honest citizens of their right to bear arms and protect themselves. seamusSU 0 Posted July 4, 2014 Voted. I always love to see how many people actually bother to vote "I don't know". Why bother voting if you are clueless? Oh, wait... most people do that at election time...

Otherwise they can see that the traffic is coming to the site from a "gun forum" and will sometimes mention a disclaimer discounting the results. h ttp://www.nj.com/politics/index.ssf/2014/07/poll_was_christie_right_to_veto_nj_gun_magazine_bill.html#incart_river
