screwing rails to plastic forearm

I want to add rails to the forearm of my M77 but no one, to my knowledge, makes quad rails to fit the M77.  Has anyone tried screwing rails directly to a plastic forearm?  Any issues can can arise?  Thanks.

Depth of screws pushing into the barrel (I'm assuming we're talking about a Ruger M77??) and the sturdiness of the rail mount.

 

What are you planning on mounting on the rail?

 

Would something like a plastic bond work better, where it would be comparable to a JB Weld for metal?

No, not a ruger, Zastava M77, .308 AK variant, picture a standard AK plastic forearm only a little longer.

Haven't tried ( don't own an AK variant ), but shouldn't be too hard to do ( depending on thickness of handguard material )

Get a Magpul MOE rail, line it up where you want it , drill a couple holes and use the Magpul mounting hardware

I'm going to be adding a rail to my AK (converted saiaga 7.62). I'm doing it on the bottom of the hand guard for a angeled grip.

Are you using a plastic or wood hg?

I read that you can buy sections of rail from magpul in the length you might need and they normally come with screw's and bolts. You should be able to drill into the hg and bolt the rail on if its plastic. If its wood I'm not sure.

I just took the rail from a MOE grip and mounted it to the bottom of the plastic handguard after drilling two holes. I've since switched to an AFG but it is sturdy enough.
