Correct NJ ORI's & NJ State Police SBI

ORI 7 digit numbers in NJCJD ... https://www.njportal.com/njsp/criminalrecords/ for online Form 212A preparation of Request for a Criminal History Record Information for a Noncriminal Justice Purposes are incorrect.  The Criminal History Record Information database ... https://www.njportal.com/njsp/criminalrecords/ wants a 9 chararacter code

NJCID ... http://www.icpsr.umich.edu/icpsrweb/NACJD/ORIs/NJoris.html

 

Example: data base of NJ ORI's lists  NJ01510 for Lavallette but when one keys this ORI into the online Form 212A, box it wants this code ... NJ0151000

 

NOTE:  Many municipal police departments are currently not accepting online requests when you key in their ORI.  Example:

The selected ORI Number is associated with City/Agency - LITTLE EGG HARBOR TWP PD . Currently selected agency is not accepting any online requests

One may want to contact your PD if they are not accepting online requests should you want to expedite the Criminal History look up process

 

 

SBI Question: What Is the correct NJ State Police SBI code?

Because  

NEW JERSEY STATE POL, HQ NJNSP00

 Returns an input error as Invalid SBI number

The SBI code is the applicant's unique identifier. Your FPID number is the same as your SBI number.

If they don't tell you do it online, then don't, because they likely aren't prepared to accept it online.

I just submitted an application to purchase and they (NJSP) tells me me my SBI number is wrong. And I took it off my last pistol permit , and FID card. What gives? Appreciate any advice.

Mine has 6 numbers with a letter B at the end. Depending on the font used, a B can be mistaken for an 8.

There are times when the SBI number comes up wrong. It could be due to a typo, or a keying error on the Muni when submitting it into the system. Also the number changes when you move, so if you have moves since your last HG permit possibly they are picking the SBI number up as invalid (and therefore wrong).

Contact your local PD, and ask them to pull your file and look at the number they issued you vs the number they submitted. Possibly you will need them to issue you a corrected FID card........

Thank you JT for the insight. It confused me because the last permit has my SBI on it and that’s what I used. They said its invalid.

I can only imagine you've got too many images stored and are running out of space? But, that's just a guess... I've posed the question via PM to our true "techie" Krdshrk, so we can get some guidance re: anything you (or we) can do to free up more space, etc. I asked him to post the answer within this thread.

Sorry I can't answer off the top of my head! Let's see what he says.

You're not a Premier member - and standard members only get a small upload quota - you may have to go back and find old uploads and remove them to free up space, or if you need to, upload on another site and link it.
