Need help identifying this found revolver.

The hammer pretty much falls out as I can't get the screw in the right way. I don't think it is salvagable but it would be cool if it was. I'll probably take it to a gun smith to ask their professional opinion. There are no markings on it or anything. No serial number, no name, nothing.

Looks like an H&R Top-Break, Small-Frame revolver.

Also, possibly an Iver Johnson.

 

From my research, anything H&R made prior to 1941 has no documentation.

Best source of information is a $90 book on H&R firearms, written by Bill GoForth:

Take the grips off.

Some of the earlier Top-break revolvers had the serial number on the frame, under the grips.
