Recommended Posts

Where:

Clinton WMA clay range in Clinton, NJ

Address:
26 New Jersey 173
Hampton, NJ 08827

When:
Sunday December 14th

Time:

____________________________________________________________

Please try and bring everything you can in terms of a gun, ammo, and clays.

A rough check list of what to bring:
- Gun(s)
- Ammo (birdshot #7, 7.5, 8)
- Clays
- Thrower if you have one
- Eyes and ears
- Shell pouch
- Beverages/snacks
- Layer up and bring a warm jacket/gloves/hat depending on weather
- Chair

If you can't bring some things, we will have plenty of stuff there. If you've never shot a shotgun before, I and others will try working with you to be able to dust a clay by the end of the day!

Gun rules to remember:

Always treat a gun as if it was loaded
Keep your finger off the trigger until you're ready to shoot
Never point the muzzle at anything you're not willing to destroy
Always be aware of you're target/line of fire
For this range, keep all guns unloaded until you're on the firing line

Be smart, be safe, and we will have a fun-filled day!

Hey Adam, let me help you get the part man. Just tell me what to order from where.

Trying to convince the wife I need to attend. Have a few cases of clays and plenty of shells that I can bring/share if others are willing to share their shotguns (I'm without at the moment).

You should try to make it. It's a lot of fun and don't worry about not having a shotgun. Most people (including myself) are more than willing to lend out theirs.

I am in ONLY if CJ USPSA match is cancelled for whatever reason (the problem is if it is cancelled due to weather, there's a big chance this shootout will not withstand the weather either, LOL) - it is exactly at the same time ... again :-(

Lalo- no worries I ordered it this morning thanks for the offer though!

Njplinker- I will have a 12g and 20g that you are more than welcome to shoot

Mikka1- we shoot regardless of the weather unless its a really bad down pour. rain, snow, heat of summer it really does not matter. Although its only the diehards in the bad weather. Just leave your camera at home in still getting my balls busted about that pic you took of me in the snow with my "special" face LOL just kidding!

Sounds like we'll have a good turnout! Let's try and keep the entire group together on either side of the range. I'll try to get there by 8:45 or so. If anyone gets there earlier, try to do a pickup before anyone starts shooting. Can't wait!

I am very disappointed but I can't make it. The wife and I went over all the stuff we need to get done before Christmas and there is just too much stuff.

Thanks to everyone who offered to let me use their shotguns. I hope to make the next one. I should have my own by then I hope.

I let my wife know today that my son and I will be doing this on Sunday and when I got home, she handed me one of my Christmas gifts...a thrower. So count me in for 2 people, one shotgun and one thrower. Oh, and by the way...this will be the last Shootout I can make. I got word today that my employer is moving me to Texas in January. (Insert happy dance here...with a 30 rd mag, flash suppressor and adjustable stock)

That's a better present than a thrower any day! but don't tell her that! Congrats on your exodus to free America!

Sunday's gonna be fun!

Sorry to hear soon enough you won't be able to hang out and shoot with us anymore, Magnawing. But hopefully you will still visit the forum! At least you will be able to enjoy drum mags and bayonet lugs!

Your wife is obviously a keeper by getting you a thrower…we will definitely be breaking it in!

I vote Finnagel's by the way. Clinton Station always rubs my stomach the wrong way. But either way, as long as I can get a beer and burger and hangout with everyone, I'm happy!

Humm I cant believe I forgot about Finnagles! well maybe because I was not allowed in their for a while (long story) but I am sure they have forgotten about me by now. I am down for Finnagles as I too am not fond of Clinton stations food but what ever works best for Magnawing

Finnagles is even better. Had a bad experience with CS Diner food about 19 years ago and haven't been back. My son will be with me so my beer intake will be limited...not to mention what else I'll have in the car. Don't need a DUI with a gun charge piled on.

Listen when you get to Texas, remember true Texans are judged by the number of empty beer cans in the pickup bed. Every time my cousin from there ventures to visit us here he is aways looking in the bed of the truck disappointed by not finding empties in the bed.  Can't make tomorrow, so good luck and godspeed.
