Norseman 2 Posted February 12, 2015 Here's a pic of my rifle. It's the only one I have on my phone. I am spending the night at my girlfriend's so I'll put some close ups of it tomorrow or Friday. Maybe you can the attachment points in this pic though. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
High Exposure 5,661 Posted February 12, 2015 Is that a Diamondhead Rail? And is there a rear sling attachment point already on the rifle at the ass end of the receiver where it meets the extension/buffer tube? ETA: Oh and you need a rear sight before you worry about where your sling goes....
WhiskeyTangoFoxtrot 358 Posted February 12, 2015 The sling is definitely nice. I was actually needing chapstick too….

ETA: Oh and you need a rear sight before you worry about where your long goes.... There is a Magpul on it now; that was the day I picked it up lol (and the white stickers are off it now too!) Yeah there's an attachment at the butt-end and also one under the A2 front sight. Do I just figure out how to un-thread the sling and then re-thread it through that attachment point at the back? I guess I'll need something different for the front, though, if I want to do that connector that allows it to go from 2 point to 1 point though correct? High Exposure 5,661 Posted February 12, 2015 Forget the sling mount under the A2 sight. Take it off when you get the chance, it's too far forward and you don't want it mounted to the barrel anyway. Need to see the sling mount on the ass end to tell you how to do it. My guess is you need a sling swivel it a clip of some kind. When you say Magpul is on it now, do you mean the rear sight or handguards? What handguards are on there now?
High Exposure 5,661 Posted February 12, 2015 Oh and forget the 2-1 adjuster. I have one that I never, ever, use. Waste of money.
checko 180 Posted February 12, 2015 HE, he probably meant the attached sling loop under the sight. If you don't mind sending a little extra $, there are plenty of quick detach sling mounts you can buy for your fore end. Some mount to the top rail, some can be more or less flush to the hand guards. For the back, if you have a magpul stock, it probably has a built in socket. Personally I like to have the sockets as close as possible to the receiver on either end. I mount it as far from the muzzle on the hand guard and right on the lower receiver endplate in the back.
High Exposure 5,661 Posted February 12, 2015 If it is a Diamonhead handguard, just get one of these and some blue loc-tite. http://www.diamondhead-usa.com/products/vrs-qd-sling-swivel-mount
Norseman 2 Posted February 12, 2015 Yes you're right: magpul rear sight and Diamondhead hand guards. What is that thing in that link? (You seem to know your stuff so I'm just gonna order it lol) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
High Exposure 5,661 Posted February 12, 2015 It's a sling cup that should thread into one of those 4 little holes on your handguard. Double check to make sure your handguard is comparable. Then all you need is a sling swivel like Checko posted above for your front sling

Norseman 2 Posted February 16, 2015 Ok just ordered the female swivel mount. They don't retail any of the other connectors I'd want.
Norseman 2 Posted February 16, 2015 What's a good brand/place to purchase the connection devices I need? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Norseman 2 Posted February 16, 2015 I didn't get Chapstick either wtf??? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
checko 180 Posted February 16, 2015 Yeah I'm upset about the chapstick. You can buy them almost anywhere including ebay and amazon. I would suggest just buying from a well known brand so they will be of known quality. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
dman2112 6 Posted February 16, 2015 Chapstick is over rated. I use Burts

Norseman 2 Posted February 18, 2015 Is Uncle Mikes or UTG a good brand? I'm looking at getting the QD swivel from either one of them.
