Divorce and Pistol Transfer

Recommended Posts

Briefly, a friend and her husband are getting separated with the intent of divorce, eventually.   He has two pistols and has had some issues where he might become, in general terms, a question 26 prohibited person.  They both agree that pistols should be hers.  She has no FPID but was driving to the range to shoot with his until I told her that was insane.

So, to transfer, do I have this right?:

- she gets FPID in order to be able to transport and buy ammo

- she needs (2) P2P to take possession of the pistols - (?)

- FFL needs to be involved, right?  Since handguns are being transferred.

Any other pitfalls?
