dman2112 6 Posted February 10, 2015 I got antsie during this stint of bad weather and decided to Duracoat some arctic snakeskin on my AR10. I think it came out good. Not sure how I want to do the mags though. Dman2112

dman2112 6 Posted February 10, 2015 What do you guys think I should do with the mags? If you look closely the Armalite factory mag is like a dark grey and the dark pieces on the weapon are black. I could... A. Duracoat the mag Tactical Black B. Duracoat the mag one of the three shades of the camp (white, arctic shadow, arctic grey) C. Snakeskin the mags just like the receivers and FF tube/ Thoughts??
Rob0115 1,105 Posted February 10, 2015 I like the black mags contrasting with the white.
SJG 253 Posted February 10, 2015 What is the difference between Duracoat and Ceracote?
dman2112 6 Posted February 10, 2015 Cerakote is a ceramic based finish and durakote is a polymer based. The prior being a little more durable but I like duracoat as it is a little forgiving (i'm not an expert) and its better for the non-professional type like me. I think cerakote may be baked on after you apply as well

RecessedFilter 222 Posted February 10, 2015 Looks good. I like the whole black and white look but if it was my gun, I'd probably cerakote the whole thing that white pattern.

dman2112 6 Posted February 16, 2015 Ok. You guys are pretty awesome with aesthetics. So my question is this. Considering the road I'm on with this weapon. Should I Snakeskin just the cheek weld or the whole butt stock?
