jerseyfire 0 Posted February 14, 2015 Would a Model 10 be a good first revolver?. I know sometimes .38 can be a thumbs down by many., however. What do you guys think? Mainly as a backup Home Defense weapon.
Jim Hartman 31 Posted February 14, 2015 I think you can't go wrong with a good M&P, Model 10. As far as the .38 special goes its still one of the most popular cartridges today and for a good reason. Any K frame S&W is a good first revolver, just watch yourself they are addictive.
dutchman 1 Posted February 14, 2015 It was my first handgun. 45 years later I still own it and shoot it regularly. You can't go wrong with a 10 and there's always a market for them if you choose to sell.

AlexTheSane 236 Posted February 14, 2015 My wife's first handgun was the model 10. It's what got me wanting my own revolver.
GRIZ 3,369 Posted February 14, 2015 I have several Model 10 revolvers so I guess that says something. Some may feel different but IMO the 38 special is just as good as a 9mm for self defense.

dajonga 396 Posted February 14, 2015 My first gun was a 10-8 ex-police gun. I love it and will never part with it.
