EWC88 24 Posted March 3, 2015 This is what I am stuck at. At first I wanted the M1, at the time I saw it was when there was only the M1. Then the M2 came out and I just didn't like how there was the button release. At same time I am not use to the Euro style paddle release but I'm sure I can get used to it. I have a permit that just got in and found both a M1 and M2. Both in 9mm which I wanted and both are used. Haven't got to check how good they look but both stores said they look brand new. I have both on hold till tomorrow to check out so I'm ok with that. Biggest thing is price difference, one is $529 other is $460. What would you guys do? checko 180 Posted March 3, 2015 M1 all the way. I have no issues going between my 1911 and ppq. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
cam29906 2 Posted March 3, 2015 Either is great, I have many M1 style H&K's and Sig's, Glock wirh M2 style button. No problems switching. I wouldn't pay more money for either version against the same version. If you find a decent .40 or 5" model and pass on it PM me so I can buy it. cheers
PD2K 115 Posted March 3, 2015 I would do the M2 only because I'm used to the button style. But I'm sure I could get used to M1 the paddle style fairly easy.
sinjin 1 Posted March 3, 2015 I went M2 as well, mostly because I eventually want to get multiple calibers and options that only the M2 series has. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
boo 6 Posted March 3, 2015 I went with M1 just for the variety. You didn't mention which was cheaper, but an added bonus for the M1 are cheaper magazines. I forget the exact model, but there's a Magnum Research pistol whose mags fit the M1 PPQ (minus the fancy non-stick coating) and are cheaper than OEM mags. I'll admit, when shooting my PPQ or HK at the range, there are frequently times when I'll reach my thumb for the mag release button, but then realize it isn't there. I figure that would be bad in a stress situation. But the way I see it, 1) I figure the odds are low in a defensive gun situation that I'll need a reload. In fact, on a couple times where I felt it necessary arm myself, I'd forget to pick up the reload in the first place, 2) if I do find myself in a situation where the execution of a flawless reload is necessary for survival, I figure my odds aren't all that great in the first place. DSD1026 48 Posted March 3, 2015 All about personal preference. If you want it to be like most of the other guns you have, go M2.. if you dont mind the paddle release and can get comfortable with it easy enough, go M1.. I have mainly button releases but my VP9 has a pretty easy paddle release to get used to.
Norseman 2 Posted March 3, 2015 I've got enough "button" mag releases. I wanted to try something new and went with the M1 and I actually really like it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Oops sorry, M1 used comes with everything and apparently looks brand new (will see tomorrow) for $529, M2 used as well in good condition $460. I did do the price request option on this site and got two replies as well.

AVB-AMG 530 Posted April 15, 2015 I decided to purchase the Walther PPQ M2 with the 5" barrel that I recently picked up. So far, I really like how it feels, especially the trigger and its accuracy. I had the Gunsmith at RTSP add a set of Dawson fiber optic sights to the gun which makes a big improvement over the standard Walther sights. I also have a H&K P30L with the magazine release integrated into the trigger guard and it does take getting use to.... AVB-AMG
