Bully 749 Posted March 14, 2015 I took a quick look and didn't find one. However Brownell's has their version in stock, and as a bonus, it's 50 dollars less. http://www.brownells.com/gunsmith-tools-supplies/rifle-tools/barrel-tools/ar-15-m16-barrel-extension-torque-tools-prod27452.aspx C

Kimber45 3 Posted March 15, 2015 On my way do they call it something other than a Reaction Rod?

Kimber45 3 Posted March 15, 2015 Thanks guys.I found it. Thats alot cheaper than the Geisseille one... But I still spent 200. On other stuff.....lol. thanks again....
T1Defense 17 Posted March 23, 2015 Just be aware that the brownells version does not have flats on it. I welded it to a piece of square bar stock so I can grab it in a vise.
Kimber45 3 Posted March 23, 2015 Unfortunally I really wanted a Geissiele but when I emailed them they couldnt give me a time frame when new production would start so I had to settle for the Brownells model... worst case senerio I will do what you did or just grind the flats . I will have to wait and see what it looks like... thanks for tbe reply though... this wouldnt happen to be Mark would it?
Shane45 807 Posted March 23, 2015 I have the Geissele. Its a great tool.
Kimber45 3 Posted March 23, 2015 Shane45 does it work better than tbe clamshell and bar type that uses the upper lugs? Iam doing a lite weight build with a A2 Armament upper and lower and I dont want to put alot of stress on the upper wben torquring the barrel nut.... Heavyopp 167 Posted March 23, 2015 If you decide you don't like the rod from brownells, I'll buy it from you -- been thinking about getting one myself Only downside I can see is if it doesn't fit through the upper receiver -- I've been reading that it might be a little tight on certain brand uppers
Kimber45 3 Posted March 23, 2015 Heavyopp... well I will let you know in a few hours UPS has it on the truck and I should be getting it sometime this afternoon...
Heavyopp 167 Posted March 24, 2015 So... initial thoughts?
T1Defense 17 Posted March 24, 2015 The brownells tool is all we use at our shop. You have to put flats on it or weld it to square stock. I've taken barrel nuts off that have broken those polymer upper holders.
Kimber45 3 Posted March 24, 2015 Heavyopp... looks like a good soild tool... iam going to use it on this new build and will let you know... Tier One .I see what you mean about grinding the flats or welding some square stock to mount in a vise....thanks all who responded....

Heavyopp 167 Posted March 24, 2015 Cool thanks for the offer... got any square stock? I'm sure we could find something -- let me look around my piles -- Even just a piece of 1/2 plate welded to the bottom would give the vice something to grab -- I have plenty of 1/2 plate And we are close -- probably 15 minutes
Kimber45 3 Posted March 24, 2015 Awesome..... just let me know what you find... thanks

Kimber45 3 Posted April 19, 2015 Its a bit short and it dosent have the flats so you reallg have to tighten it down in the vise... I mean its no big deal.. it works fine
