NJ2AS Initiates Sweeney Recall?

Recommended Posts

well all I can say is this effort is just gonna screw us.it's ill conceived and is emblematic of the NJ2AS as a whole. 1 guy makes a decision and that is the way it is.

best outcome is that in 2 years there is a scotus case

but will happen is we will be in our own safe act hell

we are screwed regardless of any recall or ccw case because they are irrelevent to what you called the "safe act hell" which is the 70+ assorted anti bills that the Assembly and Senate Houses pondered up after the Conn. shootings. Remember them everyone? They couldnt write them fast enough. They are real and will be back in one form or another and any on-going ccw case or recall efforts will  at best a worthy side show. With a Dem on the gov seat whats to stop them? With my apologies to Paul Revere- the democrats are coming! the democrats are coming! the democrats are coming! I'll hope for a R gov but will be preparing for the worse.

I don't think many, if any republicans have shown interest in running for Gov here. Steve Lonegan may try again. Chris Smith is a rino with a C grade from the NRA. He seems like a typical R candidate. Cassegrande is good. I'd support her but she has little name recognition across the state.

If we know of an R who would be a good candidate we (as individuals) should contact them and tell them they need to run. If enough people agree on someone then more emails could help. But in this state, they need the blessing of the R machine. And that R machine has sold its sole to the devil. So.... There are a lot of hurdles to get over.

But I'm not assuming that a dem is next.

Oh...and the republicans in this state need a massive dirt digging machine on who ever is running on the left. They need to find every last dirty detail that will cause his voters will abandon him over.

LONEGAN seems like a cool guy....but i don't think he's got much chance. i also don't give a rats ass what the nra rates someone. their tune changes with the wind. they're not out there to help us. they're there to make money for their leadership. there is no money in ending unjust/illegal gun laws. there is a ton of money in maintaining the status quo, and keeping everyone panicked so they donate.

fully agree with the dirt digging machine. i'm pretty certain that they could come up with TONS of crap on sweeny, booker, and fulop.

see? why the HELL do we keep assuming a dem as governer? why is no one trying to find a viable candidate that we can mobilize behind to prevent a $%$% such as sweeny from winning?

So we're going to use the "viable candidate" excuse for losing in November, 2017 by 15 points?   :)

Christie won in 2009 by winning the primaries and running against a guy who was already being perceived as a carpetbagger, phony, hypocrite. The designation of "crook" was to come later.

But look at the counties won/lost by CC in the 2009 primary (Red = Christie, Yellow = Lonegan):

b8350y.png

The most conservative counties voted for Lonegan. Does anyone reading this believe that Christie is a conservative?

That map shows to me beyond a shadow of doubt to me that NJ will never have a true Republican governor again. Some accident may happen in 2017. If on the day before the election the Democrat is photographed accepting a sack of cash from a Saudi prince who runs a child porno ring, perhaps someone like Christie will be elected the next day. But don't count on it.

Could somebody please find/post the procedure for replacing a recalled NJ State Senator? Thanks.

Edit: I found it: http://bit.ly/1DKtqnb

1. 160 days to get 25% of district's voters to sign a petition

2. Recall election scheduled, held

3. If recall fails brace yourself for spiteful 2017 legislation

4. If recall succeeds Sweeney is very likely to win the recall election given his margins of victory the last few times

5. If recall succeeds and Sweeney loses the recall election 1) he doesn't necessarily go away, 2) a democrat is likely to win the election to replace him and 3) we will likely get a democrat senate prez who's far worse.

These are the likely scenarios. If anyone can come up with anything more reasonable let's see it. Think it through, don't just call me names.

Bottom line: You wanna waste your time for these likely outcomes go right ahead.

Note: My estimate of eight months for the entire process was a very good guess.

Pessimistic much? How about a scenario where he loses and another Dem wins ...but this time they say "whew! That was close! Let's stop fckn with the 2nd amendment and just focus on emptying the coffers."

And then we go after them again til they do what WE want?

Or is it really better that we beg for scraps on the floor next to the table like we have been just so that we don't piss off an elected official? How's that working out for us?

I'm sure if you look into it something else is behind it. It was In Retaliation for something . Cut the police budget and get a dui isn't u common. One mayor got one a couple years ago. He was at Charlie Brown (one of sweeney's spots) they staked out the place. When he left they radioed down the road to get him.

Good map, but the dem could be filmed IN a porn video. They will just put someone on the ballot or delay the election until they can. That's how we got Lautenberg again after Torricelli was involved in his corruption scandal.

But you're right. A real conservative can't win here. The news will run every story possible about him/her being a racist, owning slaves, taking bribes, beating his wife... Whatever the demos tell them to air.

Record a video of him drinking then getting in his car. Send it to Fox News, local news, newspapers. Post it on YouTube. Send it to the state police, the local police, every republic legislator in the state....

Go ahead. I told you where he goes. I can't spend every night chasing Steve Sweeney around

Hi Kevin I don't believe we've exchanged posts before.

Real conservatives can't win almost anywhere. For every compelling issue we raise the other side has a catchy slogan or slur that resonates with voters.

72 Democrats in the NJ Leg. and you guys have a hardon for only one of them, one of the hardest ones to unseat.

And for every Debbie downer like you that won't pitch in and help he's a little more secure in that seat. Instead, though, if we get all of you to help, we can unseat him and send a message to the rest!!

i'll ask yet again. who are we going to try to replace him with if this were to succeed? no one seems to want to address that.

Hi Newtonian.

With the media massaging every Dem's left nut, it makes it that much more difficult but it also seems like a lot of R's won't fight. It's almost like their position on issues embarrasses them. Or maybe they think to beat a dem, they have to be a better dem...than the dem.

But yeah, a real conservative has an uphill battle. Especially in the northeast.

Sweeney might not care much about a recall, but it might cause some dems that don't have a lock on their district, to start to sweat. But the danger of this recall is if it fails, it might embolden him. There's something to be said in picking fights you can win. There's a reason lawyers don't ask witnesses questions they don't already know the answer to.

Hello Shawn. I wasn't actually suggesting -you- do it. Meant as if someone wanted to do it, that would be what might have some degree of success. I don't have time to document this guy's DUI ventures either. At least, not right now.

so in other words, we have no clue who to run against him.....but lets get the recall started anyway. yea. that's a fucking fantastic plan. if it gets to that point of voting, we'll either be stuck with a vindictive jackwagon, or we'll end up with someone so bad to replace him, that we'll wish he were still there.

 fucking fantastic plan.

The guy too scared of being recalled by us, to allow anti gun bills to go to the floor. His or her party affiliation dosent matter. As long as they know that we're not playing letter writing games anymore. And if they allow any anti second amendment bills through the legislature, we will be back with more of the same. That's the entire point of the recall in a nutshell. It's not to replace Sweeney with a Republican, although that would be nice too...

Vulnerable legislators are precisely who we should be going after, and through the election process not through recall. Instead we're picking on a guy who won by 6,000 votes, 54-45%. You don't think the others would crap themselves if they saw 3-4-5 democrats lose due to get-out-the-vote efforts by gun guys??
