medved11 71 Posted April 30, 2015 So, I got my first AK (C39v2) and I'll admit that I'm hooked after taking it to the range for the first time. I definitely want to add a second AK to the collection and I'm trying to figure out what would be a good choice for #2. Does anyone have any good suggestions as to what would be a good choice for my next one? Here's the check list that I've put together in terms of what I'm looking for: 1) Stamped receiver (I know that Century makes the RAS47, but the C39v2 that I got checks the "American made" and milled receiver boxes for me) 2) Price range $600 - $1000 (this probably take an Arsenal build out of the picture) 3) The first two models that I was thinking about either the WASR-10 or N-PAP since they seem to be the easiest models to find in NJ; however, I'd like to keep my options open just in case I'm missing something On a related note, can anyone suggest a gun shop that tends to have a good AK inventory so that I can see the gun in person before purchasing? I kind of made a "leap of faith" when I bought the C39v2 online and it seems to have worked out but, if possible, I'd really like to physical hold and inspect the next AK purchase. Any advice/guidance/tips are greatly appreciated.
Njbanshee 9 Posted April 30, 2015 I'm not sure if it's still there but Howell gun works had a sar for $600. I think it had 4 mags. That is a good price on a great rifle. Others to consider are maadi, and mak90
medved11 71 Posted April 30, 2015 Thanks for the tip - I saw the post about the SAR on HGW's Facebook page - I have a feeling that it's going to be gone before I get the chance to head down that way. I haven't read much about the Maadi's or MAK90s. I'll have to do some research.
