As stated earlier, my wife hate guns!!! The Ruger SR22 felt so good in her hands that she agreed to go to the range with me! A miracle! She actually enjoyed shooting it!

 

Do yourself a favor and  don't overlook this one! I love it as well!

My wife loves her SR22 and it really does eat anything. I have a 22/45 and while there is a learning curve, disassembly is really not that difficult once you've done it a couple times. Both are great guns and plenty of fun to shoot.

M&P 22 and Walther PPQ 22 are worth taking a look at as well. I love my S&W 22A, however it can be difficult to manipulate the "slide". Only the rear section of the pistol moves, which can make it slightly difficult to manipulate. I find I have to pinch it with my index finger and thumb to load.

I just bought a S&W .22 Victory and love it its under $400 and you get a spare magazine and a picatiny rail with it if you want to use an optic gun is extremely accurate and disassembly and assembly can be done in about 3 minuits.

I do like Ruger as a company and own two of their revolvers but I've heard that the dis-assembly and assembly process on the Mark III can be a challenge, how bad is it really?
