When brushes, swabs, or bore snakes get filthy, I dip them in a coffee can of acetone and splash them around a little.  Strips everything out of the fabric.  Hang to dry.

Speaking of bore snakes, is there any reason not to buy the cheap knock offs on eBay ? Has anyone tried them ?

Amazon has these “Nuoya001” bore snake for around $5 (China made).

Seems to have ok reviews…I have never tried it.

Personally, I buy US made ones.  It is well made and stronger.

I always have the fear that the string will break and get the snake stuck in the barrel.
