Ace08066 2 Posted September 30, 2015 Bill from Jan. It looks dead in committee. Yeah I knew it was an older one,but still not 100% dead. Worth bringing awareness to, though.
jackandjill 683 Posted October 2, 2015 From Oregon incident report... you can bet NJ is going to resurrect this issue.... when it comes to infringing on citizens rights, they have all the time and no consequences at all. ------- One law enforcement official said the shooter had body armor with him and was heavily armed, with a large amount of ammunition -- enough for a prolonged gunfight. Authorities recovered three pistols and one rifle at the scene, one official said. -------------

1LtCAP 4,258 Posted November 22, 2015 is there any statutes or laws in nj right now preventing the purchase/ownership of body armor?
T Bill 649 Posted November 22, 2015 Legal purchase or possession, none that I know of. Otherwise, 2C:39-13. Unlawful use of body vests1.Unlawful use of body vests. A person is guilty of a crime if he uses or wears a body vest while engaged in the commission of, or an attempt to commit, or flight after committing or attempting to commit murder, manslaughter, robbery, sexual assault, burglary, kidnaping, criminal escape or assault under N.J.S.2C:12-1b. Use or wearing a body vest while engaged in the commission of, or an attempt to commit, or flight after committing or attempting to commit a crime of the first degree is a crime of the second degree. Otherwise it is a crime of the third degree. As used in this section, "body vest" means bullet-resistant body armor which is intended to provide ballistic and trauma protection. Zeke 5,504 Posted November 22, 2015 "While in the commission of a crime". That phrase should be applied/replace to all of the laws on the books.
