The Last Gun Store In San Francsico

Recommended Posts

Read today that the last gun store in San Francisco is closing it's doors.

It had opened in 1952 and been the only gun store in the city since 1999.

New requirements would have; 1) had them videotape every individual sale and 2) report all ammo purchases to the police.

Just the straw that broke the camel's back

The story has been plastered all over Yahoo for the last few days. I'm wondering, though if it might have been possible for them to "relocate" to a friendlier county, rather than shut down completely. It would seem that a total shut down would give the anti's their "b**ch slap" moment they wanted. If I could have, I'd have tried to relocate as close as possible to my original site, but in a friendlier county.  I gather the costs and the regs would have taken them too far away from their customer base and into territory where the competition is higher.  Ah well...

Mr. Mark is the one with straight telling news crew that the local law was NOT about pushing only gun store out of town..

Mark Farrell, the member of the city's Board of Supervisors who proposed the legislation, sees it as a necessary move for the safety of residents.

Although "High Bridge Arms" would be the only store that would be affected by the measure as of now, Farrell said the law would also target other stores that were looking to move to the area.
