USG Sues L3 for Fraud over EOTech issues

Recommended Posts

Did you guys actually have a failure or did you just say you did and got an approval to send it back? If you didn't have an actual failure, do you still expect a refund?

Just curious. Mine seems to still be fine. I have a PRO that will go on my SBR 300 Blk, but debating about doing this.

Did you get msrp or purchase price?

Though I haven't heard this from EOTech themselves, everyone on other forums say that you can request UP-TO MSRP. If you paid less then that, then request that amount. If you paid more than MSRP, you can request that amount but they might ask you for a receipt.

Its not a matter of if your optic does it, they all do. It's a complete design flaw. It's just whether or not your sight has hit temps to cause it to shift zero.

My understanding is that any temp change affects the optic. The larger the change the larger the instant effect it has.

But, the small changes are stackable - a bunch of small changes back and forth that can occur from the high to the low end of reasonable weather can have the same cumulative effect on your zero as one large shift over time.

Either way, everyone that states "mine hasn't broken" or "mine hasn't lost zero" needs to add one word to their statement - "yet".

This is an inherent design flaw in every EoTurd out there. One that the company has admitted to. This isn't someones opinion that there is an issue; this is verifiable, repeatable, measurable fact.

I won't settle for mediocrity and refuse to use an optic that will enhance a chance for failure. For many people - Military, LEO, Armed Citizen - This is a safety issue.

Whenever there is any doubt, there is no doubt.

Like I said earlier, no one likes to be told they have an ugly baby. A lot of people are taking this recall as a personal attack, like it proves they are stupid because L3 duped them into buying expensive faulty optics and continued to defend them after the faults were proven and quantified.

Some are continuing to buy them as proof that they were right all along and EoTurds still rule.

Others are convinced the 1 MOA dot and larger window are superior to a 2 MOA dot and "tube" and the chance of the optic failing is worth the smaller dot and bigger field of view. It doesn't matter that they are putting the 1 MOA dot on a 4 MOA rifle, shooting 6 MOA ammo and are not even close to a 1 MOA shooter and the fact that there is no difference in field of view when shooting any red dot sight (regardless of the size of the aperture) because it is a 1x optic and you keep both eyes open!

Still others are delusional and are clinging to the "mine has worked fine, so I'll keep buying them" and placing their trust in a proven loser.

And I just got confirmation my Aimpoint PRO along with a Geissele super dynamic shipped, both on sale and will be $99 out of pocket after I get my refund.

My update.

12/06 I contacted EO after finding it on this thread through their website, basic zero issue was the reason, also had battery life issues.

12/07 Within 12 hours I received a reply requesting purchase information.

Had no details on that and apparently my Primary Arms account info got trashed in their web-hosting/store changes.

Had to make an educated guess based on my Quicken software.

12/17 cost info emailed to EO

12/18 morning, within 12 hours had an acceptance for the return and info on how to proceed.

12/18 evening, ordered an Aimpoint PRO and Geisselle Super Dynamic trigger

Used UPS to return my XPS3 as they have superior tracking compared to the USPS website.

12/21 shipped

12/23  received and accepted 48 hours later

12/24 Primary Arms Aimpoint and Geissele arrive  :hunter:

So now I get to wait. We'll see what takes longer, my refund or my time to get to the range to try out the trigger and PRO.

The refunds will be in the form of a check, processing has been outsourced due to so many returns, and the checks will be sent out within the next two weeks. Also, there should be a phone number to deal specifically with return issues. Once we have it, we’ll share it.

And the number:

Refund requests that have been returned can now be tracked thru our refund call center.

Please call 1 888 EOTHOLO

WTS my like new Eotech EXPS2-2. Selling only because ive moved onto a LPVO. It shows a build date of 2016 on the box. I bought this from someone in 2018 and it's been to the range with me 4 or 5 times. I ran the serial # through Eotech CS and came back legit.  It works and looks brand new. I just put new batteries in it. This is the quick detach model which allow fast on/off the gun with a return to zero. Come with factory box and registration card. Any question please ask!. Can ship on your dime or meet up in Monmouth County near Marlboro
      Asking $300
First "I'll take it" wins this beauty.

      Hello All,

I own 2 eotech HWS (xps2-0 and xps2-2) and am curious if anyone has experienced thermal drift issues with their sights. Long story short, I have noticed that my eotechs will not hold zero from range trip to range trip. At 100 yards I cannot hit a 12”wide by 14” tall (guesstimate) steel torso when aiming at center mass. When I co-witness the eotech and foldable irons I can clearly see that the eotech zero has changed. Both my eotechs have this issue and sadly the newer one has a bigger issue with thermal drift than my older one. I never noticed the thermal drift issue until I joined cherry ridge and was able to shoot at 100 yards regularly when I used to only shoot at 25 yards.

Which leads me to my question.

Has any1 pursued legal action against eotech in NJ? Or is there a class action lawsuit in NJ? I am sure ppl have heard or seen http://www.eotechlawsuit.com/ and am wondering if anyone has contacted them or similar attorney/law office ect.

I know they have a refund/repair but this is a HUGE issue and I believe they should not get a free pass by using their refund loophole.

      Extra credit question.
What is everyone using in place of an eotech? IE a 1x sight.

So i finally got to take "Krystal", my Umbrella Corp. build to the range yesterday. Robs609 and my self helped Firearms Training Sepulveda Firearms Training film some instructional videos at Shooters last night. While Robs609 got to shoot her more than i did, i was able to pop off a few rounds and give a quick test to the Umbrella Corp BCG and SSA trigger i installed yesterday. Rob, Kharis and myself agree... the SSA Trigger is where it's at! So much smoother and tighter than the Spikes Battle Trigger i had in there before.

shot about 50 rounds w/no FTF or FTE with the new Umbrella BCG. More info on that after i get some more trigger time on her.

anyway, here are a few photos and vids from yesterday.. check out that muzzle flash! lol

Thanks to ROBS609 for being our designated shooter for the videos.

      anyway, thought we would share!
