How long is a NJ FID valid for? I was under the impression that it is only valid for 5 years and then you must renew.

However some towns (Middlesex) want it renewed every 5 years. It is good for life for ammo and long guns, but they will not give you purchase permits unless it's renewed.

Do they not get it that when you apply for pistol permits its the same damn process????. Idiots. Ya know... I really think we need to support LEO's...but when I hear this stuff, i think they need to be fired and sent to flip burgers....without a pension.

someone should move there and apply for a pistol permit and not even have a FPID.  then sue when they get denied.
